Ouch. What class are you?
Ouch. What class are you?
50 asmo sin.
Hrm. That makes things harder. If you're in a helpful legion you could do Eso 3-4 man and maybe they'd help you collect blood. We've been 3 manning it with me feeding the other two AP (and me getting the money drops). I got 21 boiling blood last time.
Not a bad idea. 0/3 now. About to ding 55 (like 5mil exp to go), so I'll say DING 55 .
It's very worth it for chanter and it's a good set for Rangers, but I can't speak for every class. I haven't gotten close to a set that outclasses it for my DPS. Then again, I've never gotten a Stormwing drop and my Crucible static fell apart. And I haven't seen a staff drop since NTC.
Me and my wife play asmos on the Zikel server (finding that was a horrible mistake >.>) and Elyos on Israphael, though we favor the asmos usually. We only started about 45 days ago and are 35 on our highest characters, asmo glad and sorc. If someone wants to run FT or something sometime give me a whisper ingame. My characters name is Nishiko (well the one I play the most, the glad).
I'm on the Elyos Zikel side, but I play chanter so I'm not usually out for blood. Ha. Plus I'm a 55 chanter.
I"m pretty sure Fenris is one of the best PvE sets for a sin. I has over 100 crit on it. I figure once I have it and the title, I'm good until I get the 55 PvP armor. It's not like the Jotun set is better. Stormwing's might be I suppose, but I have no idea if I'll get it ever.
In the meantime, 0/4.
The only reason to do miragent/fenris anymore is for the title. The gear is alright, but you can buy the udas gear from shouts probably over a weekend and for significantly less than you would spend on miragent/fenris. 55 AP armor is nice too, but keep in mind, things significantly change with 2.7, where you are spending arena tokens/crucible tokens to upgrade bought pvp armor, so AP items are pretty much null, except for accessories at that point. Honestly, i wouldn't spend a single crucible token from now on until 2.7 out, as the pvp weapons are gonna be 95k crucible tokens.
People use Miragents because for Chanters / Sins / Rangers it's the arguably the PvE set you can get, unless you know of any other set that gives the same Crit and/or Attack Bonuses.
There's always Abyss gear that you can socket with Crit and Attack, but that's a whole 'nother story about getting it, and you end up spending just as much as miragent, if not more trying to socket that shit lol.
Check out the stats on the Stormwing Leather and Chain set, and tell me it's better for one of those classes.
The crucible pvp gear was nerfed last week stat-wise, and the prices were reduced dramatically as well. Weapons are only 28k crucible tokens. I made a post on the official forums with prices of all the new items you can buy in crucible: http://forums.na.aiononline.com/na/s...5197&p=1038798
I hope those items get tweaked again, because even for "free" ap shit...they're terribad. They were too good before the nerfs, but typical ncsoft running them into the ground.
Should be getting AP gear anyways, shits stupid easy to get these days. Between Forts, Eso, Dailies, and Dredge...its stupid the amount of ap you can pull a day just from pugging evenAP groups.
I'd rather shoot myself than be in a fort static (except Eso). I'd much rather do Miragent's again. There's a guy who's spent billions trying to socket a 6 slot eternal PVP gear with manastones and has failed over 1,000 (with the NA branch of NC Soft confirming it). It's a matter of preference for some classes, and necessity for others.
Don't need to have a "fort static" to get ap gear. Fort's just speed things up, since its 3 (fuck asteria/roah) extra sources of ap. Every class benefits from pvp gear, only a few benefit from miragent's (if that).
Rangers/Sins don't need crit bonuses, and there's less attack on Miragent's than 40e/50e leather. As for chanters...well lets be honest: their pve damage is laughable (and not why they're wanted), and in pvp they're free ap. Sorry![]()
Sin definitely does not need the bonus crit from mira. With 50e set, gold pve accessories, and flarestorm dagger/mira sword I have 523 base crit without a single crit manastone. Add the standard 60 crit/acc food and that becomes 583 which is very close to the point where adding more crit becomes redundant (600 in pve). With that said, any 50+ gold/orange instance set or ap set would be a much better choice than miragent for a sin. 50e being optimal for damage output with 40e not far behind, unless you happen to luck out and score a full 6 slot gold/orange besh set.
Only use for mira for a sin is the weapon and title, and even the weapon is fairly easy to replace.
0/5 now. One day I shall succeed! Should hopefully have attempt 6 tonight or tomorrow.
And I'm a chanter. Having a certain level of DPS is part of the job and I take it seriously. I saw a chanter running mountain crash with 400 attack and 220 crit. Even in my support build I'm over 600/550.
If you're not with a good fort group for upper the AP you'll get is negligible. I'd get AP faster grinding guards.
3 man hm for 15-20k per member per fort. ~30-40 mins per fort, more if you do lolquest for another 1k ap. Yeah you'll totally get more grinding guards, esp as you go up in rank.
As for your dps, cool story. You take your class seriously? Awesome. Seriously. A lot don't give a shit and are terribly geard and terrible players. However, in the long run, your 600+ attack means jack shit. Chanter DPS really doesnt matter; nothing personal, its just how the class is. I'm almost positive you'll do more dps just by putting up hit mantra for a decent gs sorc than you would meleeing nonstop in full dps gear. (next time I dust off my sorc, I'll parse crits. Pretty sure crits alone outdps people I've grouped with). Hell, I'd probably out parse a chanter spamming refracting shard and flame bolt ffs.
A chanter in a group is there for mantras, wow/woq/ss/other buffs, and off healing. You're a support class, worry about supporting. Leave the dps to the big boys.
