About rifting to heiron, I hate it. Elyos apparently are myths and do not play this game, atleast not in Heiron. Can find, on average, maybe 3 real people who aren`t bots. The rest, if fortune smiles that day, hug guards and watch you, don`t even do the cat and mouse BS. Hurrrrr! I have literally ran across the entire zone from the jungle to the beach above storm circle and never come across elyos.

Debatable, due to the fact that 90% of the time you're out pvping on a non gank class like glad you'll be with at least one other person; keeping someone in range becomes less of an issue negating the one selling point of the weapon. This will be increasingly true as a higher percentage of servers hit cap, as there will be a much higher volume of people in the same abyss "hot zones" (core and upper forts).

Get ganked enough by those high traffic rifts and know they've got a fuck ton of room to run around with to avoid any type of NPC protection and you tend to look for more obscure locations to grind. Hell, I get paranoid every time I pop my EXP amulets because if I do get facerolled, it's about a 5 minute run back to where I grind. When I finish up this level, I'll probably just try to force Theo at 44. I know I hate having to pop a potion and herb treatment just to grind, and the mobs in Heiron I work on now are like the only things I've found where I can get away with just herbing while riding Improved Stamina and Glad's 10m regen. Just another case of one of those Range > Melee in this game, doubly so when you start seeing the range types griping about an area not having elites for them to solo.

But in the general sense, I will agree the area has been a bit of a ghost town since the bot bans. Though, I did see a mid-30s bot party last night grinding on the low-40s mobs I pick on.

Trying to get from 39 to 40 I picked up about fifteen quests all over Heiron today and tried to get some campaigns done. I finished 3-4 (one being a delivery to Arbolu) and one campaign. I was killed by asmos 8 times and not a single fight was anything I could have come close to winning. Why bother hanging out there? Since I can't do anything special as a gladiator I joined a shitty HQ grind.

This doesn't mean anything. Sure it COULD play a roll in deciding if you should farm the spear or not as a glad, but people always seem to love to theorycraft like this. "Well in the OPTIMAL situation.. blah blah", a lot of people will still want to pvp solo in the abyss because no one is around they know, or they don't want to share the AP between 2 characters, or some other reason, thus resulting in the Spear indeed being the best wpn for them. All extendable weapons are amazing for melee, that's a fact. It's not really up for debate at all. They overcome melee's inherent weakness.

That is seriously fucked. If someone spends the time to camp for that weapon, they should have sole lot on it. I would quit the game too, or atleast the legion.

Shortest respawn we have seen is ~22 hours for Zapiel. And server maintenance apparently has no effect on the respawn time.

My guess after seeing this is that there's a chance he spawns every hour starting at 20 hours after TOD, but still keeping an eye out for more information.

Short story

Did seacaller today, used earth spirit for the hell of it, I was only SM around at the time so I'm the one that used drop buff. Got the gold sapphire ring.

Went to alukina, again using earth spirit. We get extendable, atk speed dagger.

So now my leaders like...ok, lets test this. We rift to heiron balaur area and kill Commander git...fucking gold cloth legs drop. Then immediately pull Hanuman. No gold, but even better...the sword drops(Suckers pay retarded for it)

Long story short, I'm not allowed to use anything besides Earth spirit now :<

keeping someone in range in the abyss is always an issue for melee classes, being solo or with a full group makes no real difference. Extendable is everything.
