how do you unlink the token on your ffxi account?

My friend did this accidentally and he was able to get it fixed up pretty easily with a call to customer service or w/e.

Since it's up here, figure might as well answer the question about buying another one. If you try to buy another from the PlayOnline Viewer page for it, it will say you have reached the limit for that account. They won't let you order a second one from there easily, it seems you have to get the call center to reset your account so another can be ordered. RIght now the system has a limit of one token purchase per account, probably because they are still trying to meet demand on the things.

You can't unlink your account from your SE account... I called up customer services to try and do it but they wouldn't allow it cause of RMT. They will fix it though if you accidently break the link though. It's quite a stupid thing though, I shared my SE ID with a friend, now neither of us can sell up :/

If it stops working you call SE up and get them to unlink it from your account. However the person you talk to won't be able to unlink it completely. When my dog ate mine the representative set the account so it would no longer require me log in using the token, however it is still linked. He put in a ticket for it to be actually removed so I could link a new token to it and it still has not been done. This was in Oct of '09 and the old token is still linked to the account.

On occasion of database hackings, they also mail passwords to the original account owner on file's address, like they did this/last week.

There's a sticky, at least there used to be, that said once you link to an SE account, you can't unlink or cancel said SE account without losing access to your POL account. You get to now wait on hold for SE agents to fix it for you ^^;

Could easily mail the buyer the token. That is unless you're going to try to jack the account back after spending the money on hookers & blow.

Just got my account reactivated and all was good. I've never had bad experiences with customer service. This guy even told me when the info I put in was wrong, took like 5 minutes.
