Does that mean you aren't having issues with even low rated players refusing to sign with you, or your players refusing contracts if you try to re-sign them midseason? I have also read that when you loan players out the team you have loaned them to can buy them outright or even sell them... and you have no say. Have ypou run into any of these?

I have always quite liked both franchises, well ok FIFA has grown on me the last two years, so I am hoping to enjoy both of them again this year.

Negotiation screen is greatly improved in FIFA 10. There is a "Negotiation bar" at the bottom of the screen which tells you the probability of the player joining your club. So, unlike FIFA 09 you are not blindly making an offer for the player, you are actually seeing the progress real time. Signing a low rep/rated player is very easy, their bar goes up to 80% mark without much effort at all.

Negotiation bar seems determined by the salary, bonuses, your team reputation, player reputation and the general interest on the player (other clubs can shortlist a player and increase his market value too!).

I never had any problems with loaned out players. A patch was released just 2 days ago, they may have fixed those with that.

Other stuff...

Every league now starts with a transfer window and top teams in a league participate in Champions League/UEFA Euro League right off the bat.

The number of offers you can make in a single week are no longer limited.

Board comments on your performance every week, sets your objectives straight, gives feedback, etc.

AI transfers are much more realistic. You don't see 1860 Munich signing Eto'o. Top tier teams target quality players, and low-rep teams target cheaper players.

Interface is much better, every tab brings out the essential widget-esque information without clicking them.

As far as I know, clubs offer you contract at the end of the season/when you get fired depending on your performance. Haven't seen this personally though, still haven't finished a full season.

and so on... Manager Mode is just so awesome this time around.

Excellent, and just what I was hoping to hear really. Like I said, this game is in the mail as it is so it doesn't matter, but... i get impatient and always like hearing feedback from BGers.

I had a lot of fun with both Manager Mode and Be A Pro (offline and on) so I am excited to get this in a day or two.

Guessing it is going to be my first 'keeper' from Gamefly, as I will most likely end up just buying my rental copy.

EDIT: Well, Man U pulled a win out of their asses, and the Real v AC Milan game was some back and forth madness. Nice that Pato finally got himself a CL Goal. In other news, here is the list of fixes that the recent 1.02 Patch fixed. A fun read, insofar as laughing at some of the silly bugs. I really do like the whole "loan a player to another team... and that team then SELLS your loaned player in the next transfer window" lol

Online and Connectivity

PlayStation 3
Feedback : Players disconnected from PS3 matches too frequently in the development teams opinion, usually during the first half with a connection-lost message.
Update - Players will be able to complete online games with minimal disconnections.

PlayStation 3
Feedback - Players disconnected too frequently in the development teams opinion, from the PlayStation Network when playing online with a profile with many FIFA friends.
Update: Players will not see any unexpected behaviour relating to having many friends on their profile.

Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3
Feedback: No teams in Div 3 or below on world standings
Update: All Divisions will have stats listed once there are enough teams to fill the divisions above them (50 teams per division, so Division 3 should start having stats listed once there are 101 teams in the standings).

Xbox 360
Feedback: Occasionally, no users could be found during a Pro Ranked match search, while there were users available to play.
Update: Pro Ranked match search will always be successful when there are users available to play.

Manager Mode

Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3
Feedback : Player form changed too dramatically while playing through manager mode.
Update: A player's form is now more subtle and does not affect physical attributes.

Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3
Feedback: Occasionally loaned players from the first transfer window would be sold by teams in the second transfer window.
Update: AI teams with players loaned to them will not sell these players in the second transfer window.

Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3
Feedback: Occasionally players would disappear that were bought in the first transfer window when simming matches in the second transfer window.
Update: The players team will not lose players during the second transfer window without any action on the user's part.

Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3
Feedback: Goal Keeper Clean Sheets were being tracked as assists in the Top 20's screen.
Update: Assists will only be awarded to players that passed the ball to the goal scorer immediately before the goal was scored.

Feedback: The game occasionally crashed when entering gameplay, team management, or transfer lists during the first season after loaning out players and filling the roster to full. There were too many players at the club.
Update: Loaned players will now still count towards one of the 42 roster spots so the player cannot have more players than the maximum belonging to their team.

Xbox 360 / PlayStation 3
Feedback: Rarely, the player could progress past the end of season with a negative club budget after signing and, later, choosing not to re-sign players during a season.
Update: Choosing not to re-sign players will not cause the team's budget to decrease further.

Live Season 2.0/My Live Season.

Feedback : Changing the squad at the central hub of My Live Seasons to include invalid players would make the game hang if substitutions were later attempted during gameplay.Update: The player will be informed that the player cannot be substituted into the lineup.

Feedback: Too many match events, for example yellow cards, were being tracked incorrectly which would occasionally make My Live Seasons hang.
Update: The user will be able to use Live Season mode without any hangs, and all match events will be tracked correctly.

Update: The Youth Players' ages will be correct.

F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! No more Del Piero running as fast as Eto'o! This was the biggest issue for me in Manager Mode.


PES Stuff!

I've been playing Master League for 2 days now and I am in love with it. It looks and plays much better than last year. I was told that PC version is better than console versions but I cant make a comparison as I haven't played it on ps3 yet.

I've got the PC version so I'll post screenshots.


This is the main screen. New radial menu is working very well in Master League and looks great. Unlike previous PES games presentation is pretty good here.

And I bet everyone was waiting for this....UEFA Champions League and Europa league are now included in Master League with their awesome presentation. Champions League Anthem, official songs, etc. everything is there.

Trasnfers are much better this year. First of all, the season starts in August so you've got the chance to prepare your team, invest in staff, transfer players before the games begin..which is quite awesome. Implementation of real life currency(Dollar, Euro, YEN, GBP) also helps with the realism.

Competitions:
Only a handful of teams in Premier League and La Liga are licensed, unfortunately. French and Dutch leagues are fully licensed and Italian league is 90% licensed. For PC version this shouldn't be a problem as comprehensive kit patches, etc. can be easily developed.

Scout Reports: You can't see other team players' attributes. You've got to rely on your scout (efficiency is determined by the money you invest).

Transfers: You don't directly make an offer anymore. Instead, your scout takes care of the negotiations and it may sometimes take weeks.

And the new wonderful specialist training feature. Its also possible to chance players regular trainign routine. Every player develops/declines differently.

Gameplay&Graphics:

Its much harder to dribble. Unlike 2009, you can't grab messi, dribble through 4 players and score.
Trough balls are much less efficient...or I guess more realistic.
Easier to score 1vs. 1.
Graphics are good, really good. Much better than 2009. Animations? Not so.

I finally gave in and picked up FIFA 10 for PS3: - as largely anticipated - the game's crap in single to the point of being borderline unplayable since you get basically no time on the ball due to the CPU AI pressuring the shit out of your players 24/7 (oftentimes in your own friggin half and without ever showing any sign of fatigue no less) and cheating its way out of literally any 1vs1 situation, yet surprisingly gratifying in multiplayer, whether it's online (disconnects aside) or with your buddies.

...so, who's up for a BG FIFA 10 championship/league/tournament/whatever (I'm pretty much fed up with dumbasses disconnecting left and right during injury time because I'm 2 or 3 goals ahead...it's getting worse than SFIV)?

I don't care if there's just 4 or 5 of us, let's get this rolling asap!

I gave up playing online back in 08-09 because of retards disconnecting themselves. Around 2/3's of random community fake dc's :/

That said, I am down for a BG tournament (been playing PES for a while, but yeah).
