I actually ran across the street at lunch to Borders and picked up Cursor's Fury. So we'll see how it is. How many books are there total?

I hate listing my favorite books because I tend to enjoy a lot of different books from authors I like so I will list my favorite authors instead:

    J.R.R Tolken
    Frank Herbert
    Orson Scott Card
    Chuck Palahniuk
    Ursula K. LeGuin

Isana is...whatever(in my mind she's played by demi moore).
    Spoiler: show
    Because it's off-topic:

Amara is young, remember that the opening story started with her final cursor exam. I think she's only a year or two older than Tavi, and I'm pretty sure Bernard is robbing the cradle. And yeah, she's a one-trick pony. However, her one trick is absurdly powerful. As far as furies go, her wind fury rivals the potency of many wild furies. She's on par with the wind-crafting abilities of many Citizens in terms of power, if not control. In addition, she's smart enough to question authority, which means she's got brains to go with her fury-crafted abilities. As a cursor, her job is to gather information, not necessarily to be a fighter. Look at Ehren, and to a lesser extent, Tavi. They are not prized for their furycrafting, but a cursor's power isn't rooted in furycrafting, and they have both proved to be phenominal cursors.

I do agree with what you're getting at though, Metal- and Fire-crafters are fucking awesome, and those characters with a good measure of control over multiple furies really seem to have impossible advantages over other folk.

    *glee*

Isn't it such an epic continuation of the idea?

I mean fuck, I've never seen anyone properly demonstrate the utterly minute scales of human experience as Baxter does.

These are pretty decent. Though to me they seem to be a failed movie script turned book.

    @Acturus

You're right about Amara. I forgot that part about her and damn that Bernard

(First three might sound elitist, but they made me become an English major)

    1. John Milton - Complete Poems and Major Prose
    2. Geoffrey Chaucer - The Canterbury Tales
    3. Shakespeare - The Norton Shakespeare
    4. Tim O'Brien - The Things They Carried
    5. William Faulkner - The Sound and the Fury
    6. Joseph Heller - Catch 22
    7. Joseph Conrad - Heart of Darkness
    8. Koushun Takami - Battle Royale
    9. Neil Strauss - The Game
    10. John Steinbeck - The Grapes of Wrath

Honorable Mention: All of the Resident Evil novels, Dragonlance War of Souls Trilogy

Wow I just realized that only one or two people listed Battle Royale. For shame on all of us.
