Exclusiva TGS: Yakuza 3 llegará a Europa en marzo - Noticia - Vandal Online - Videojuegos (Spanish)
Apparently looking at a March release (for Europe, no word of NA date), but portions of the game are gonna get cut. Enjoy your no-dating sim edition BRP.
Fucking hell I paid 80 bucks to import this because SEGA were taking their sweet fucking time waffling about whether or not to localize it. No wonder they stopped making consoles.
And where the hell is Kenzan? Are they still so certain that western audiences won't 'get it?'
Anyway, came buckets, preordered, etc. etc. Doubters of the Yakuza series can pick up the first game for 15 bucks if you can tolerate the English dubbing, or the second game for 20 bucks if you'd rather have japanese voice acting (they pay for really good actors) so it's not too expensive to take a look.
Okay, I'm playing through the first game now. I picked them up at Gamestop for like 20 total. The story is okayish, but GOOD GOD, the controls are fucking AWFUL. The fighting is completely retarded. I'm hoping that they fixed it in the second.
I think of all the other posters here BRP is the only one who understands my love of Yakuza and is as excited about this as I am.
I remember getting a woody to one of the japanese trailers a few months back. If this game is anything like Shenmue, i'll be hooked.
sorry for the necro bump:

Damn you march!
Wow haha that puts it right up against FFXIII. Does Sega want ANY of its games to succeed?
Yakuza will be a moderate success. Let's be honest, most people who are going to pick it up are the small numbers of people who own the first two. I really don't think Sega has any intention or ambition of trying to match numbers with Final Fantasy. I'm quite happy for this since I finally ponied up the loot to pick up a PS3.
Man fuck this, please add more shit to the first quarter ass holes, oh well this will wait till summer.
The decision to not release Ryu ga Gotuku Kenzan stateside was just plain dumb. The only thing you can really hope for is that decide to port it over like they did with the US Yakuza 2(which was long after it was released in Japan if I'm not mistaken.) Hopefully they decide to release it but I'm not crossing my fingersWhat's truly sad is that had Sega localized Kenzan Yakuza 3 would be getting even more buzz as the followup to 'that PS3 samurai game you should have played.'![]()
Damnit. ANOTHER game to add to the laundry list of First Quarter games. Gonna be the most expensive 3 months in gaming that I can ever remember. I'm happy it's finally got a release ironed out. I need to finish part 2 up. 1 was decent, 2 is much better, 3 is hopefully even better than that.
Also it looks like they aren't cutting out parts of the game like they originally stated. Unless they still have a plan to, which would suck. Seeing as how nothing is mentioned in the Press Release though, I doubt we have much to worry about.
Demo for this just released on the EU PSN, hopefully later today on US PSN too.
Just downloaded and installed it. Getting ready to give it a go.
Played it for a while tonight before USA vs Canada started. As usual looks like the start of another fantastic story. Fighting is identical to the other two entries in the series with a bit more of an upgrade. The huge ultimate combo series was just brutal to watch. I simply cannot wait for this to come out now that I've been able to play a little bit.
I know it's been said that you can play the third one without having played the others, but I have literally no knowledge of this series, and this thread is the first I'd heard of it. It looks interesting, and I'm just wondering if I'll really miss out on some core enjoyment of the game if I maintain my ignorance?
