not sure if I'm doing Halloween this year, since I'm pretty much out of commission after the surgery I had last week. but if I do, I'll keep it simple with:

fake boobs
tank top
blood spatters
fake butcher knife
boxers
long dark-haired wig

and if anyone asks, I'll tell them my name is Katie.

I know someone who used a helluva lot of painted toilet roll tubes and string and went as a suicide bomber once - surprisingly it didn't go down all that well :D

Fanks! :D I actually found a real good couple of tutorials on Deviantart and went from there. Had a lil bit of tweaking but turned out well in the end i think!

I used a cheap face mask, a beanie, a couple of balloons, bandages, gauze and paper mache. Basically blew the balloon up, put the mask and hat on it and started covering it in paper mache. Waited til it was dry and began adding the gauze.

The gauze and bandages had previously been soaked in a tea/coffee mixture and left overnight then put in the oven to dry out. The coffee flakes off easy after that. Then i wrapped the first layer of gauze around the head, not in any particular order as the thicker bandages would go over the top. This was just to cover the newspaper from the paper mache. All this was stuck down with the flour/water mixture as I went along. Then the heavier bandages went on but I had to be a bit more creative with this. I kinda wanted an eye to be covered and the mouth 'silenced' so working them so it worked out like that was a lil hard but came good in the end. I left one eye uncovered but painted over it so it looks like i can't see, but i can! :D

The colouring was down to the tea/coffee stuff as a base, but once the bandages were on i added some dark brown, dark red and a mustardy yellow acrylic paints. Mixed these a lil with each other until they were dark tones and applied sparingly with a brush. Paid attention to shadows and applied the dark brown there, whilst the dark red was mainly used for 'blood' effect. The yellow was just for texture.

The same sort of applied to the dress, but the red paint worked better as blood on there as it soaked in and gave it a real 'old' blood look. Same with the nurses hat. I must admit the blood on that looks elite lol. Dead old n that.

The mask is a twat to get on and I gotta be real careful not to rip the back (Will show a reverse pic later) and once its on its difficult to breathe lol but its worth it :D Well pleased with how it turned out, must admit my bf helped with the arty side of things but it was a team effort :D

I wanted him to go as Pyramid head but hes chosen The Joker in his nurses outfit from the Dark Knight, as he doesn't fancy sitting topless in a pub for 3+ hrs lol.

When i'm fully in costume with body paint and what not i'll post another pic :D I doubt anyone will know what i'm meant to be at this party i'm going to but fuck it, I know :D

If you have a friend who can help you, this is a pretty cheap idea and good converstation starter (this isnt a picture of me, just googled it, but I did do this 'outfit' a few years ago and will be trying it again this year)
