I've long assumed Jesus was a time traveler.

I know it isn't impossible to time travel (hint: you're doing it right now), so the quest becomes "we don't see tourists".

If you set up a TV type device and tuned it in to a moment in history, any sort of leakage that came out would probably appear as ghosts.

Setting up transfer relays for these devices would involve buzzing around in skimmers so advance the seem like UFO's now adays.

Dropping a human being back into the past such that he could change the cultural and religious bend of a huge portion of the human race is the ultimate form of corporate espionage ever.

If some of these things are figured out, then making self-aware time-like oracles will be childsplay.

Then whichever one of those decides to bootstrap itself up to higher orders of intelligence will begin trolling through the rest of mathematics for more loopholes to abuse, and increase it's processing/storage space as much as possible.
