Wrestler from the 80's and 90's. He was too much win for the world.
Little known fact, Ravishing Rick Rude was a half T-Rex and Half Man.

I red this reply on youtube regarding a video about Obama making health insurance mandatory:

What a freaking liar. I'm not so STUPID I'm going to GET hit by the bus! But I have a right to trust my God and not man. If man doesn't want to help like I've helped OTHERS for all my life...ON a day when I need emergency help then whatever. I'll still trust my God to heal me as he has in the past. What Obama is REALLY saying is 'We're going to tax GOD RIGHT OUT OF THIS PICTURE. ALL GLORY TO GOV'T. That's the bottom line here. And we know how good he'll be at keeping cost down. LOL!
    YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

I'm going back and forth with him, but wow... it's hard to believe that people like this exist...

Heh, if you want to piss a christian off, just ask what I did when I was little:

Me: "Dad, why is magic bad?"

Dad: "Because it is a power of Satan."

Me: "But then what does God use? He can create things, destroy them, see everything..."

Dad: "That's not magic son, that's the power of God's will."

Me: "But... Isn't that what magic is, using the power of one's will to bring about a change...?"

Dad: "IT'S DIFFERENT SON, NOW BE QUIET!"

Yeah, the rest of that road trip was rather tense and quiet. Personally, I wouldn't mind a higher power if it was nice and rational, so long as we got to use magic too. :O Oh well, guess I'll have to make it my life goal to find out where magic went from history and bring it back, or if it never existed, to make it real. :O!

    ...What? It'll be fun!

Yea, I never really got how they could reconcile things like that. There's a whole list like magic, talking to the dead/raising them, seers who tell the future, etc. Much of which their supposed savior did while he was here.

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
Arthur C. Clarke, Third Law "Profiles of The Future", 1961

    Got you covered.

By the way, for those unaware of Clarke's Three Laws, I'll save you the effort of googling it:

How did this turn into yet another religion thread anyway?

It was a rhetorical question. I recall the events precipitating it.

I still favor the idea that Jesus, Da Vinci, UFO's, etc, are all time travelers.

Read "Rant" by Chuck Palahniuk and it doesn't seem all that implausible!

Also, as far as the whole Noah living to be like 920 years and Methuselah being 990+ years, as I was taught, was because humans were so recently mortal. When Adam and Eve became mortal, mankind's average lifespan has steadily decreased since then, and only because of advances in modern medicine do we not have an average lifespan of like 25 by now. What I never got was what made 600+ years for the first mortal humans reasonable after the first two perfect ones should have lived forever. Why didn't the first mortals live 10,000 years? A million?

BECAUSE THE EARTH IS ONLY 5679 YEARS OLD AND IF THEY HAD LIVED 10,000 YEARS - 1 MILLION YEARS THEN EVOLUTION WOULD BE VALIDATED.

edit: I love Rant, its one of my favorite books by Palahniuk and imo the ending isn't as big of a 180 from nihilism to sentimental pussy shit like so many of his endings are.

Never heard of Pahluniak, just a conclusion that struck me.

If there were alien civilizations advanced enough to travel interstellar distances, they wouldn't buzz around in little silvery ships randomly.

Temporal tourists though, that is exactly what you'd expect, and it is the only plausible explanation for ghosts, hauntings, miracles, etc.

I mean, people don't REALLY believe in God, do they?

    Do they?

Chuck Palahniuk wrote "Fight Club" "Choke" "Rant" and other great books. His books are very good reads.

Ahhh, I gotta admit at first I only watched Fight Club cause Brad Pitt is gorgeous.

Awesome movie, but I didn't know this going in.

also: people don't seriously believe there is a big guy watching over us, yet he has never been observed or left any sort of trace beyond crazy people (yes, including Jesus, I'm sure Jesus was an awesome dude, he sounds like he'd be great to smoke a joint with, but he wasn't the son of god) saying they talk to him... do they?
