JP Button at Tokyo Game Show 09

So, trying to figure out exactly how to cover TGS hasn't been easy, but I think we've decided upon something.

First, JP Button is starting a new feature called Expeditionary Force. This feature will be basically a constantly running live blog that chronicles the whole trip. I thought this could put a new spin on our event coverage considering
1) Square Enix has been more forthcoming with translated info recently
2) There are a bajillion new fansites up looking to post info as it comes in

If you like the traveling part or are interested in Japan, pop in and check that out. We'll be putting up pictures, video and audio as we travel to Tokyo. If you don't care about that and just want straight game coverage, pop in during event hours.

Another reason for the blanket coverage is that, unfortunately, there will apparently be no FFXIV news and little to no FFXI news. We know there are new FFXI toys... but it sounds like that's it. With Expeditionary Force, JP Button will try to do what it does best - pick up where Square Enix leaves off. We'll be searching for anything we can find! Through ZAM, I am able to get in during Business Days, so hopefully we can deliver something cool back to FFXI fans.

People can also participate now, but you will need a Twitter account. Using Twitter, you can @ reply and send questions and comments that we may copy and paste into the blog to answer. Twitter accounts are not required to view the blog.

Second will be traditional write-ups on the show to be posted on ZAM and Eorzeapedia. JP Button is like the neutral territory, but Corinth and I will be dispatching back to our respective sites to post up some daily summaries. I'll reserve this post to come back and post links.

Day 1 - Final Fantasy XIII demo
Day 2 - Exhibition Hall Videos
Day 3 - Final Fantasy Figures & Wearable Stats
Day 4 - Square Enix Booth: Live and In Color

Glad you're getting nice perks from working with Zam.

sidenote: is it wrong that ffxi toys news excites me more than any update news could? Maybe it just shows how baaad the recent updates have been. Here's to hoping the toys will be things that will be somewhat available in the US.

Of course xiv news would be great too, but I almost don't want to know too much before it's released. It's sounding so good, I don't want to get a buzzkill--let there be mystery.

Elmer thank you for the post and I look forward to the "blanket" info especially travel. I have also taken a liking to yours Corinth's occasional deviations from ffxiv/xi content in your posts and this makes you both an exciting team to anticipate info from all around.

I wonder what the extra Tarutaru action figure will be in the Japanese releases?

I do have to admit you must know, you will go down in my vigorous personal history of Twit-avoidance as the motivator and catalyst in me acquiring a Twitter account.

Elmer, will you be having any time with SE team for a interview? I know it has been asked over and over to the dev team, but if you do get a interview maybe you can slip in a question about AV? Mention how we have figured out the regen and the 2h's but we cant get past Meteor spam....

There is no official interview time set up with any fan sites. If we can't get a word in with anyone there, we at least want to get comments from other JP players. There are a few JP site admins that are friends of JPB who will be in attendance, so we'll be looking to meet up and chat.

Point is if SE wanted to give us anymore info it would of been done. There are shells that are willing to put aside the hate for other shells to come together and fight this thing. Shells have spend countless amount of hours and XP on figuring out how to lock the two hours. If they have gotten that far why spend time in an interview begging how to kill something when giving more time and teaming up can solve.

The question should be used on something other than AV holy shit. Every-time something is too hard for someone they just want hand me outs.

That would be awesome Elmer, would be interesting to even see what the JPN community has to say about AV right now
