I like how the show's episodes seem to be a lot like 24 in that there is seemingly no (or very little) time passing for the characters between episodes, I think when watched in a row (on DVD or something) it'll make for a really nice experience.

umm no? do you mean Destiny looked like 3 different ships due to crappy animation or there's 3 ships put together to create Destiny?

I guess I can see where the front nose could become detachable but meh, kinda looking for something that might not be there. sorta like... the backwards translation to the controls being a reference to ID4.

I mean that it looked like 3 different ships. The 2 back parts of the ship seem like they've detached from the main ship to create 3 separate ships.

oh, I see what you're talking about now, but yeah no, it's not detached any, it's just the shadow of the backside of the ship, a small part that's raised up. some screen grabs that I pulled to try and show it.

hmm, a thought just crossed my mind about the Ori and the supergate. how far was their galaxy exactly?

I re watched the episode where they got the Lime, and that really really looks like one of the ships shuttles at the end. Looking back at the one where the senator dies there were 3 windows up front and that really looked like it had three windows up front too. I can not remember if I posted, maybe the ship sent that shuttle to get the two dummies that went to the locked out planet.

I am wondering if the ship is going to try and hit the corona of that star and "scoop up" some hydrogen, Maybe re fuel its own reactor?

That seems likely, unless they want to remove the Destiny so soon, which seems highly unlikely.

I forget how far the Ori galaxy was, I don't think it was ever specified.

I figured it might have been somebody on the planet those 2 took off for. Their arrival alerted whoever was there that the ship was close. It may have also been the reason they were locked out to begin with.

I also thought, if your THAT advanced, maybe just maybe, you built some kind of solar back up into your ship. Some BIG capacitors, some batteries, maybe can get it going for a while.

This referring to the random shuttle at end of second episode? That would certainly be a way of introducing an enemy, assuming the enemy felt threatened by the Stargate, or whatever civilization they believe dropped it on their planet, but as a planned thing? Seems unlikely, as if the ship is travelling at FTL speeds, the ship being near is hardly a consequential thing, as it'll be not near before they can realize anything.

Also a support of the theory of solar scoop or something. Also they speculated that the ship dropped out of FTL specifically to slingshot around the gas giant, it should easily be able to calculate ahead of time where it was going to go after the slingshot manuever. Probably the plan of the ship all along, as the AI seems to be somewhat self-sustaining and at the same time receptive to the needs of those now aboard, it probably planned this all along and did this now so as to not change its course too much.

To explain the lack of just shutting down FTL and nothing else if that was all it was doing, maybe it would've done this anyway to refuel somewhat even with no one aboard, and any emergency reserves had to be used for life support and that drew from main power to a degree enough that it needed to cycle everything down one by one instead of leaving everything on and just turning off the FTL drive. To not scare the expedition it didn't alert the further goal of the slingshot maneuver to them until it was completed so that they didn't do anything foolish to try and stop it.

Or they could all be fucked and need to abandon ship

Haha I admit I looked her up after the episode. Julia Anderson is her name and she has a nice scene from "Masters of Horror" Right to Die (shows more!)

Remember the ship did not tell them anything. They got a shuttle fired up and used IT's sensors to figure out what was going on. They are assuming the ship messed up the sling shot and that is why they are boned. I am still holding on to the ship has a plan theory..
