It is weird though, Rush to me seems anything but humble, yet he doesn't think he could ascend. We know there's two aspects to ascension, physical and mental(or spiritual, if you like), and that there's a machine on Atlantis that handles the physical portion for you.
So, does Rush realize he's not enlightened enough to ascend(seems somewhat out of character to me), or is this a plot hole and he doesn't know about the machine?
Wait I may have forgotten something, what is this machine that you speak of?
Tao of Rodney - Stargate Wiki - Universe, Atlantis, SG-1
Basically, Rodney is pushed along the evolutionary path towards ascension and reaches a point where he must ascend or die but, Rodney being Rodney, can't let go of his burdens to reach the mental state he needs.
I had totally forgot about that episode. Thanks man.
woah woah woah
was that lt hooters that died?
spoke before the ep ended
ep started off as a 10 and probably ended as a 7, still has to be one of the better eps of the series so far
I really enjoyed this latest episode
Spoiler: show
Oh and daniel jackson was given help to ascend(sp) by one of the ascended(sp).
Spoiler: show
That aside, I really liked the episode, and although I was sure they were going to keep their promise of killing off characters, I'm glad to see they have some balls when deciding who to off.
Edit: Oh damn it, I hadn't finished the episode. Fuck me.
although i gotta love when that thing bust out of chloe lol.
no great sci-fi series would be complete without a token time travel episode
Daniel was ascended by Oma when he died, he didn't ascend in the normal fashion of physical/mental capability, Oma just said 'k I'll help you ascend cause you're such a nice person'
As I'm watching this episode, I was gonna ask if anyone else was getting sick of all the Kino stuff, but then the whole episode is based around it.
This would've been better for the Halloween episode, but I guess the timing couldn't have been helped. I enjoyed most of the episode, just wished it didn't have to be seen through the Kino.
I think that chick in the photo that Rush has... ascended? Or maybe she just died and he hopes she has so he can join her.
Kino is fine but
get rid of Chloe already
fuck
Oma performed the same function as the atlantis device, I assume, removing the physical requirement of ascension. Daniel still had to handle the mental aspect himself.
That's not how I recall it, but I don't care enough to go rewatch the episode to defend what was (again) a joke post.
On a different note, my mom and my brother both complained because they thought the ending to this episode was a cliffhanger and they didn't know what was going on. I had to explain the makers of the show expect you to assume the crew follows Scott's instructions and that they don't need you to be shown the events on the plant unfold a third(and severely boring) time.
