Oma performed the same function as the atlantis device, I assume, removing the physical requirement of ascension. Daniel still had to handle the mental aspect himself.

Oma simply offered him a free ascension. Ascension on your own provides more of a mental process.

That's not how I recall it, but I don't care enough to go rewatch the episode to defend what was (again) a joke post.

On a different note, my mom and my brother both complained because they thought the ending to this episode was a cliffhanger and they didn't know what was going on. I had to explain the makers of the show expect you to assume the crew follows Scott's instructions and that they don't need you to be shown the events on the plant unfold a third(and severely boring) time.

First time he got auto-ascended by Oma when he died for going into gate room and turning off the Naquadah Generator and saving everyone, act of selflessness at its best etc. Ancients stopped him from interfering with Anubis and threw him back on rando planet. (Guessing Oma was able to influence where so they could find him)

Second time he got... partially ascended I guess, he was stuck in that diner place, where he could choose to mentally give up the lower plane (would probably need to be permanent this time, or the punishment would be more severe) or walk out of diner and just die. Forget how he got back, guessing the ancients got bored of having him around or were secretly happy he convinced Oma to step in and fight Anubis so they gave him a reward *shrug*

He convinced Oma to finally stop Anubis and the rest of the Ancients gave him a standing ovation I beleive. Then he appears back at SG Command.

I'm thinking they returned him to being human after he helped save the galaxy
from the replicators.

this show is getting better and better imo.

I'd still prefer more sci-fi-ish stuff instead of having it be so character focused, and maybe more series tie-ins (like today we *just* find out that the Icarus planet was made from Naquadria, which is why it's so rare). But yeah, I like the show a lot.

Eli is probably my favorite character too, kinda seems like he's growing into the role a lot. TJ is a close second, but I dunno why.

I loved the ending. A few things annoy that I can see they're purposely leaving open for future episodes. That one bald military man is obviously going to explode eventually and no one cares or thinks something should happen with him. Even through the psych evaluations, it's obvious a few of the people could go off the deep end soon but she doesn't seem to think anything more needs to be done.

I would probably be the same as Rush in a situation like this.. Explore the ship, see new planets, fun fun fun. Who gives a shit about Earth.

This is how I feel. If I'm flying through space at faster than light speeds I wouldn't give a flying fuck if I ever got back home. Sure the situation isn't all that great with the lack of real food and what not. But they've made good progress with the ship. Things are looking up and that is promising. I'd be living it up.

Holy shit at the ending, I burst out laughing in my beanbag. Excellent song too, kek. Seriously, I love all this character development stuff, such a rich story which is a nice break from what the other Stargate's were like.

I'm guessing his (the bald guy) outburst at not being able to wait a year has to do with the pills it keeps showing him taking. I'm guessing there wasn't exactly time to grab a couple bottle.

As for the evaluations, I think TJ did show some kind of reaction when the one guy pretty much admitted he had been thinking about suicide before Rush's 'discovery'.
