I thought he kept a copy on that jump drive to cover his ass later if needed more than to hide it from people.

And I never got the sense he pressured that guy into sitting in the chair. He after all fooled Eli into leaving so he could do it himself. I think he just said screw it I'll risk it.

Yeah, I'm expecting Rush to get back there relatively quickly. I could see him back as a villain in a later season as well.

I won't be surprised if there is some sort of STD outbreak with that one woman going through all the guys

I honestly hope this show keeps going for awhile. It's the first Stargate-related show/movie I've liked, mainly because it's doing exactly what I had hoped the writers of Star Trek Voyager would do from the very start and never had the guts to do. Characters are dying, loyalties are split, and unlimited technology is not at their disposal (yet). I just honestly feel for these unwilling and underskilled people and being trapped with next to no hope of rescue at the moment, nothing they've done seems out of character.

The main thing other than what people have already brought up that has me intrigued is why the ship was so badly damaged to begin with. Its auto-navigation system is nearly perfect as Darkness/Light showed, so accidental collisions seem out of the question, and the shields are strong enough to survive entering a star... so what gives? I know it's an old ship, that explains the power issues and the original life support system failing. I'm talking about the physical damage to the hull that allowed all the air to get out (like that huge dome-covered room with the giant hole in the windows).

    Spoiler: show
As for the last episode being any bit predictable, I think the last 5 minutes were the only part the writers cared about. From the very start, Young was like "I'm being framed, so I'm gonna play this cool til we find out who did it". He was going along with everything, so there were no big surprises. It had to be Rush or Wray, because those two are the only ones who hated him in charge. I don't think Young was planning to leave Rush on the planet, but the defiance even to the very end probably said "this guy is unredeemable".

Yeah, now that you mention it, it really doesn't make much sense, but then again, it's only television.

those are main systems that are needed to make the ship working with no issues so i would imagine that the ancients made them to work regardless of age or energy levels whereas the other not so necessary systems were made of substandard materials as they were not priorities.

it's also possible that some of the other visitors to the ship over the years have scavenged parts or supplies from the ship that would be necessary to keep those non priority ships running correctly.

i'm sure there are several dozen other possible explanations writers can come up with to explain why the ship seems so mighty but at the same time is a broke down mess.

This is from page 7 from Furoris:

the show seems interesting so far, came across a blog by one of the producers where he answers emailed questions about the show, the 2 main one also brought up in here he gave rather cryptic responses to.

    Quote:
“Who or what took the Shuttle that detached from Destiny at the end?”

    Answer: That wasn’t a shuttle.
    Quote:
Michael Jones also writes: “What became of the fools who went through the Gate to that other planet the ship had locked out?”

Answer: That remains a mystery. But the fact that they didn’t respond to Eli’s communication attempts suggests the worst.
follow up on the "not a shuttle"
    Quote:
Thornyrose writes: “The mailbag is appreciated as always. not that I expect an answer, but does the “not a shuttle” that left the ship have something to do with the more-battered than would be expected condition of Destiny?”

Answer: I’ll just say stay tuned. That and good guess.

If people haven't seen these yet, the SGU main site has got some interesting videos online that fill in some gaps and add some backbone to a few of the lesser seen characters:

    This especially caught my eye:

is it just me, or is the ship that detaches at the end of Ep. 3 the same kind of ship as the one that was crashed on the planet Rush was on? That would certainly make sense if he's gonna come back eventually, I guess.

Pretty sure the ship they are riding in is the first to head out in the direction/sector/whatever they are traveling so couldn't be ancient. I think it was mentioned to be advanced and such but it probably is the way they will get that arrogant Dr. Rush back on board the Destiny.

Such a shame really... Rush better come back he was one of the most interesting characters, if not my favourite one.

'Everything goes for the mission' is a far more realistic way of putting things than the 'We never left one of ours behind' from the last 2 shows.
At least I think so. And Young is such a douche for leaving him alone and lying aboot it, that's far worse than framing someone.

Unlike typical show that feeds you main plot line at equal balance as the side stories, SGU fails to deliver. I'm sure there are more people who can get easily tired of interpersonal drama that show conveys.

Also, someone mentioned that everyone should just accept the fact and start living on the ship. If that were the case, the roles filled wouldn't be what they are now. I'm gonna wait and see if writers reshuffle people to accommodate the roles they are suited for before I speak my mind. I'll say this though, Tamara is much better as main female character than Chloe is trying to be.

That was ep. 10. He is in the very least back by ep. 14.

I have re-watched the end of this one.
Why did the ship dial this planet?

That ship kinda, sorta looks like one of the shuttles that are on destiny, like he one they launched in when it was going into the sun.
Maybe it has parts they can use.

bah Yea they said it was not ancient so forget that..
But it still might have some parts.

When I was trolling for music on youtube, I bumped into this, and thought of this show.

So, I decided I'd share with the SG:U folks here, who can surely appreciate it.

I'll watch it because it'll either be good, or I'll be able to smugly say, "I told you so," later on. I do not have high hopes for this in the slightest.

Also I really wish SG1 had been given an 11th season. Fleshing more of the Ori story arc would've been fantastic. I was never so interested in the series until then.
    I love being wrong sometimes.
