I was actually rooting for the civilians to take over the ship. I find all the military guys to be pretty annoying... actually I find a lot of the people in this show annoying, Chloe the most. I think Rush is the most straight forward character of the bunch, I like him because of that (also because he actually wants to explore space and get to understand the ship which I wish they would do more of <_<)

Anyways, so far with these two episodes I really like the direction they're going, rather than every episode is them heading back to Earth to QQ.

I was wondering that too, last anyone saw of him was the episode where he sat in the chair, currently it's unknown. I'm betting he'll come back later this season, but obviously won't be able to help them get home lol

Hm in the first episode of this season they mentioned that new guy is taking over his position in charge of the communication stones until he can get back on his feet or something along those lines. So I assume he's just passed out in their med bay.

Anyone know what the name of the song was at the start of this episode? The tune is incredibly catchy.

Nvm, found it. Brand New - You Won't Know

... Sadly the rest of the song is kinda weak.

this week's ep was pretty good, kinda sad that the aliens seem like pretty big pussies but what you gonna do, i suppose destiny is a far superior ship so that could go towards explaining it.

should just cap that china bitch asap, dont like her

Thought they really fucked up the last episode. The mutiny had potential to be a tense dramatic situation, but it got completely overshadowed by the attack and Rush's surgery.

I totally agree. I think it could have been a few episode arc, but instead it was wrapped up in a neat little bow in under an hour. The tension is still there, just a lot of potential just went out the window.

Quite possibly the only reason I watch this show anymore

You should google Julia Anderson and look around for the clip of her in Masters of Horror.

I'm getting more disappointed with this show with every new episode. I love SG-1 and Atlantis (I prefer Atlantis, but only slightly), but this show feels nothing like Stargate (aside from the fact that they sometimes travel by a huge ring, called Stargate). I don't hate the cast, but I do dislike some characters that have been mentioned in this thread a few times (like Chloe).
There seems to be no exploration (the few episodes that have taken place off-world have been pretty stale, except for the 108, Time), which was a big element in both SG-1 and SGA. I know SGA started pretty slow, and you could argue that SGU is also just laying some background, but unlike SGA, SGU isn't trying to explain the concepts of the Stargate universe (ironyyy) to the viewer, but rather trying to ignore them.
Most of the screentime is taken by pointless drama (pointless as in there seems to be no character development or longer story arcs involving characters backgrounds, aside from the very obvious one with the nurse and Col. Young) and the show seems to be trying to emulate Battlestar Galactica to some degree, with poor results.
I miss going to new planets and meeting new civilization, acquiring new technology and seeing Daedalus-class ships destroy bigger motherships with Asgard lasers. Oh, and having a cast of characters that are at least somewhat relatable.

Sorry for the rant, I just miss Atlantis very much. And I do hope that Universe gets better, as it's the only Stargate series we got now, thanks to Atlantis being canceled so that Universe wouldn't have competition.

This, so much I miss SG-1, and I was so sad when I finished watching every episode. I WANT MOAR

SGU is ok, but the way I see it, it's keeping stargate "alive", so maybe in the future we'll see more of what we like? :/

I hope so. Because right now, I HAVE TO watch SGU because it's the only Stargate we get. :D
Also, it was pretty disappointing that they canceled the Stargate MMO (and now they are apparently making it into a half-assed shooter by using the models and textures created for the MMO project), I was really looking forward to playing it, just as a roleplaying experience. I mean sure, it probably wouldn't have been very good, but I'd do anything to get to roam inside a fully modeled Daedalus. :D

Good episode... interesting if not predictable twist there with TJ. The show really does a lot better when they aren't going back and forth between Earth via those damned stones. Keep it on the ship.

Predictable plot twist with TJ. Can't say I was surprised.

I like SGU to be honest. One of my favorite genre is the whole survival plot. Always fun to watch how different writers approach the human, primal instinct to survive.
