i too am kind of WTF @ them just "oh HAI GUYZ we BACK NAO" i guess it's kind of explainable but no cut too them on the planet opening the gate. i was expecting some kind of alien attack or something.

all in all another GREAT episode, had me on the edge of my seat a couple times INCLUDING the crazy ending

Yeah I think Franklin went up, up, and away. Also thought the way the 3 got back was kinda lame. It makes sense, and any other way probably would take a few episodes to get done. The alien espionage was interesting, they obviously know how to use them better than humans do. There was a 3 week lapse in the middle of the episode also, dunno if that explains what yall were saying about TJ, I didn't notice anything but I wasn't watching her stomach.

Don't think they have any loose ends now? Wonder what happens when they get to the other side.

Anyone think they will ever get full-time control over Destiny? Or that they will ever get it fully/nearly restored?

Yes, but they shouldn't have been able to dial Destiny, it was out of range.

It wasn't out of range, it was in hyperdrive. Can't dial the gate while in hyperdrive. Once the ship stopped, they were able to dial in because the position from where it dropped out was still within gate range.

this pretty much, destiny wasn't out of range of the last gate yet, they just missed it last episode because they jumped right as they were dialing in.

that doesnt mean they shoudnt do some explanation of what happened or something.

I agree, the whole "HEY GUYZ LULZ" way for them to get back to the ship was lame... Feels more like a "Oh, fuck, how should we write this up?!" solution to me...

I suppose you're right about the range thing, I just assumed they'd already been traveling at FTL speeds for some time as the episode began.

That makes things even worse. I thought that at some future point we'd have some explanation for them coming back despite being out of range like some ascended intervention or something, but it really is just "Well, that's the end of that." The resolution may as well have happened between episodes off-camera with it being this anti-climactic.

They should have just let them gate in at the very last second and ended that previous episode with that. :/ That little arc went for what, 2 episodes? And they just end it with "oh hey we just gated in lolz"... meh

No I don't this it was out of range. They didn't connect because they got the "busy signal" and it jumped. I wanna say they did not get all the way out of that last planets gates range when the drive went boom and they dropped out of FTL, their remote most likely just lit up the ships addy again and Eli started dialing like mad.

Right, I do not think they can dial the gates, has anyone noticed there are no DHD's ANYWHERE.......

I do not think he asended but did you notice how it started to I guess "freez" the room? Maybe the ship kinda used his brain as RAM or the like or as a processor and he heated up a little too much..

That's actually a theory I had too. The real ones being captured and on their ships, in order to infiltrate the crew and allow them to easier track the ship. Eli said "Why send a Kino? We were just there", which, while innocent, could be the alien trying to get them to the planet.

I mean, it DOES seem a bit weird that the ship was sabotaged in range of a gate on accident (As they can't connect to it anyway), and that Eli and crew just HAPPENED to be lucky enough to gate in right before the alien ships arrived. I mean, how much time passed between them gating in and them dialing back to the planet?

That's a good point. Or have they not figured out how to use it yet? But my thought on that is they would of hooked Eli up to that brain reader and found out how to use it pretty fast.

A consideration that a number of people are missing (and I just realized myself) is that the distance is a lot larger than it seems.

Think about the map that Rush was looking at, and remember that while inside that galaxy, they still had to jump to FTL to go from system to system. It could have taken hours or days of ship time to go from the system to the gate-border of that galaxy.
