waste of an episode
with how nonchalant they are about resolving things, I wouldn't be surprised if in the timeline, this happens weeks after they reached the next galaxy. In the messhall, they mentioned calling off the search for Johnson.

Crap, I'd forgotten that part. That still doesn't make sense since they would've had those ticks for weeks asymptomatic and then after they jumped people were hallucinating within hours.
Can we please, please develop Lt. James into more of a character than "bitter ex-fling?" It was kind of intriguing in the first few episodes because it might've become a love triangle or some sort of interesting dynamic, but now we're 13 episodes in and that storyline hasn't gone anywhere and neither has her personality. I thought we had something going with the episodes where Scott and company were missing and she was the de-facto second in command. She was showing some self-doubt but starting to build confidence, then suddenly Scott's back and she's back to nothing but jealous stares in the mess hall. This episode was a huge missed opportunity. They could've dredged up something from her past like they did with Greer and gave us some insight into her character, but once again it's all about Matt.
Also, I need to stop watching the previews for these episodes. I spent the first few minutes thinking how much cooler the opening with Scott and James would've been if I didn't go in knowing it was all a hallucination.
episode wasn't as bad as some of the first half of season 1, but it certainly wasnt up to the standard that the second half has been presenting us with
i too am kind of confused as to how they got to the new galaxy so quickly, hoping they have some sort of explanation for that
the show is full of all sorts of Unobtanium and McGuffins (like TJs baby bump!) so I doubt they'll explain it. Next week looks good, even before SGU I've always felt like Lou Diamond Philips was probably a douche IRL and now even more so.
Have you people not watched Stargate before? They pull this shit all the time.
Also accidentally watched some of next week's preview, looks awesome D:
I can see why people would be confused because the pacing on this show is so terrible, but yeah, the answer is pretty obviously that they (despite how much was made of the length of the intergalactic journey) made the trip between this episode and the last AND they went to at least one planet in this new galaxy (because hey, you guys didn't want to see the gate used on Stargate). This also explains why TJ is noticeably more pregnant.
Gonna edit in a rant here.
Since we now know for certain that Eli, Matt, and Chloe are themselves and not alien doppelgangers, I just want to take a minute to say how fucking badly the writers missed the boat on them being stranded in the first place. If that was meant to be a two-episode storyline with them coming back safely at the end, then it should've been just that, two episodes, with the characters returning at the end of "Lost". However, I don't think they should've gone that way in the first place. They built up the storyline over two episodes and it had so much potential. For once we had something to talk about.
They could've had the gang stranded for a few weeks, establishing a settlement (possibly revisiting the planet from "Faith" and Matt's feelings abouit it) and taken the opportunity to develop Eli as he has to confront his lingering feelings for Chloe and his jealousy of Matt, and maybe ultimately evaluate his own self-image. Alternatively, the three could've been captured by the blue aliens and taken to a base of theirs, or even their homeworld. The team learns a lot about their culture and their intentions towards Destiny before they finally managed to steal a ship and reunite with the others. Even better, the writers could take the opportunity to introduce a whole new player in the game. Some galactic power with unclear motives who nonetheless help our trio get back to Destiny. So many different ways to go but instead we get "LOL GUYS, THAT WAS SCARY FOR A MINUTE."
I don't remember exactly what happened, but back in SG-1, didn't the team have clone copies of themselves who believed that they were the originals? Or something like that?
Could be something like that >_>
Grasping at straws, etc.
For that episode they thought they were the originals, yeah. That was actually a cool episode since as I recall it most of it was from the perspective of the copies.
Anyways, that was a really, really specific circumstance and those guys were machines so I doubt the ticks would work. This is of course on top of the fact that making them copies of any sort after last night's episode is you-must-wear-a-helmet retarded and would let me walk away from the show guilt-free.
Yea but they figuered out they were copies by the end of that episode.
Then there was that side plot to it a while after where they just could NOT stop exploring so they were going around and trying to explore/help people too.
this week's ep is looking pretty fucking epic, i think it's going to be the opener to the last 2 eps of the season which end in a cliff hanger of course.
OH MAN

I am with TD3 on this one, this is a great episode and its trying to confuse us!
Great ep. I do not get why they wanna go there they can not get back!
Great ep, definitely trying to drop names to pique interests for the finale though.
Is that fucking Rhona Mitra as Kiva? Fucking awesome.
Great EP and I still love every bit of this show.
Edit: Yes it is.
yea, nice episode definitely. the only thing I noticed that stuck out to me was that they couldn't show the cargo ship take off lol.
That was awesome, finally :D
amazing episode, hope they dont waste the potential they are building
Awww... first episode I missed saving to my PVR. At least there's easy places to find it streaming online.
I'm starting to like the show more and more.
