I do the same thing with certain sci-fi shows, as well as the whole Buffyverse, certain cartoon shows like Futurama, Venture Bros., Weeds, basically the things she doesn't like.

It's quite fun.

It's a step up from what happens when she's home.
She owns the following series on DVD: Friends, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Sex and the City, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond.

I've seen those shows from start to finish more than I would like. With the bigscreen fixed now at least I can escape to another room to watch something I like.

Catching odd episodes of ELR + Seinfeld is great. But constantly rewatching might kill it... I find I still laugh crazily at old Seinfeld episodes I've seen many times, though.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I find it odd that shows that were good enough to get continuation movies made weren't good enough to get another (or in Firefly's case, a whole season) season.

SG1 & SGA were canceled because Sci-Fi didn't want to foot the bill for another season despite MGM more than excited to continue on with it. From what I read they were already pissy about splitting so much money between the two shows, and because SGU could be done cheaper (lolship) they put all their money behind it.

To be fair both shows last seasons were utter crap.

Atlantis was way too much about individual effort rather than teamwork anyway. Every other episode was about everyone else getting captured and the main cast taking turns doing their Jack Bauer imitation on the enemy.

I hope they keep churning out the movies though, the two from sg-1 has been pretty good so far.

btw finding seasons 3 and 4 of farscape online is pretty tough if you don't want to deal with megavideo's retarded restrictions. I just found both on youtube in 9 minute increments so I guess I can just watch that. Tudou you have failed me!

oh and if anyone's interested I can post links to Tudou for SG-1/SGA, although hulu has most of both series.

yeah, but you can watch Tudou wherever. Hulu's quality is pretty good, so it may be worth it to figure out how to set up a proxy server. I've been thinking about doing that for getting around Youku.com's annoying region block.

Protip for Tudou.com:
Tudou get's REALLY slow during chinese primetime, so if you're going to be trying to watch videos during this time (basically 12 hours ahead of EST) you can alleviate some of the lag/slowdown by loading 5 or 6 windows at once (like 3 2-part episodes, for example) and letting all of them start to load, and then pausing them. By the time you're done watching the first clip, the other few should be completely loaded.

That's only 1 person's playlists, for example he only has s5 of babylon 5 even though all 5 seasons (as well as crusade, and most of the movies) are on tudou. I can make a full thread devoted to streaming scifi shows if people want, but it might take a bit.

It was originally suppose to be a season finale but turned out to be a series finale.


they got so many complaints they actually had to make a movie to really end it.

I fucking RAGED at the end of Farscape. I think every Farscape fanatic simultaneous shouted "WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED" in their living rooms. Thought the movie was poorly done as well, but Farscape is still one of the best sci-fi series to ever come out (first 2 seasons especially).
