I liked it, really looking forward to next week, and hoping they don't pull a SGA and have the first episode of next season be the conclusion.

Really makes me wish they'd make a real stargate show again. Drama is ok, but I just miss all the exploring and mythology and technology.

I was thinking that as soon as they gated too the ship. I'm sure that they will probably take the ship back and dump them on a planet or something though. I doubt they would keep them around and work together on this.

During the Chat session, Alaina Huffman (TJ) said there are going to be a ton of Alien encounters in the next season. They are currently filming ep 8 of season 2 as of this point in time.

They also mention an explanation for the disappearance of that guy in the chair.

Here's hoping there's a lot of space battles and alien fighting/abductions that'll kill off most of the extra characters down to just Kiva and maybe a few others.

So if the show is headed the way it looks like it might to me...did they just fix the major problems people have been having with it?

With some of the most calm and rational interaction seen on the show so far going on between the two groups, and the good will act / actually giving some of the Lucian Alliance people names; it's looking like they'll join up with the destiny crew, if only for a few main important members and some redshirts to slaughter when introducing new enemies or problems. My guess: Right before Young makes his move, whatever caused that guy to burn up will make itself apparent, and everyone on-board will go "Oh snap we'd better all get our shit together and stop fighting each other before we get turned to charcoal". Eli will find some magic device down in the bowels of the ship and reemerge to save everyone, then someone will give a hurp durp speach about working together to survive on the ship.

All the civilian / military tension and pointless bickering will stop and shift over between Earth crew / Lucian Alliance crew, who will cut out the bullshit by just threatening to kill people when there's a conflict. With multiple alien aggressors they'll all have to be on their toes, and with pushing from the LA they'll explore more of the ship looking for defensive systems, leading to more cool discoveries and alien encounters, rather then just finding the Kenos and that coma chair and calling it a day.

I guess we'll see next week or in a few months.

Liked the episode. I'm assuming both groups will work together. Someone I was talking about the series to had a theory that the IOA woman was also brainwashed.. which I could see.

I'm thinking that the whole burning of the guy up was caused by the dude who disappeared into the ship. At least that's what I think happened to the dude in the chair.

I'm getting the impression that Kiva isn't going to be as much of a bitch as she has a reputation for. She has a no nonsense policy for bullshit and she's absolutely cutthroat, but I get the feeling she'd wants to explore the ship.

What's the possibility of the ship having Ancients(I forget the actual race's name) in stasis on it? I was toying around with that idea and I thought it could be plausible. It may also explain why the ship appears to be unmanned.

A site note: I didn't like the whole Colonel Carter "left her people behind because it was the right thing to do" crap. It seemed out of character.

It looked to me like it was comming from outside, through the shields, in the screenshots (below) you can see a light source comming from the shields (Possibly from a nearby star?) and burning him that way.

I have a theory that the guy who was absorbed in to the ship became "part" of the ship, kind of like the ship's brain. As a way of helping the crew out when they were attacked, he overloaded the ship's electic grid to cause the shields to flicker, and through overloading them, burning the guy to the ground. Hence why the ship can't jump again, as jumping would result in the ship being torn apart with flickering shields.
