If there was a third season, their "peril" would probably be solved within the first 20sec of the episode. Like the mid season 2 cliffhanger or the season 1 cliffhanger, the writers just don't know how to connect the seasons all that good. They should just go back to how they did it in SG-1 and end each season with a finale that ends the story arc and then start anew next season.
oh and the SGU crew will probably be "back" in 3 years cause you know they're in stasis!!
now that I'm watching it, I just...... this is how they end the series? I'm pissed and I'm only half way through it.
Also, though not directly related to the episode itself, why would they only release it on DVD? I'm not getting why they opted to not release it on blu ray. I want it on blu ray dangit <,<
They said the SGU movie was canceled days after announcing a TV movie for it but my guess is we'll see a SGU movie in 3 years, if not by then then Eli cracked and made the ship drop out of FTL early and they drift in space for eternity!!!!!!!!
SGU movie canceled, for now.
Shit balls. I missed the last episode. FFFUUUUUUUUUU
Ugh. Show had such promise. Could've been one of the better sci-fi shows of our generation I think if it was allowed to keep going (and didn't have to redesign the entire plot halfway through the 2nd season). Now it ends like this and the movie is cancelled. Ugh. Pretty pissed.
But hey, at least there is Marcell's Quantum Kitchen amirite!?
I don't understand this at all. Someone(s) at MGM seem to be trying very hard to bury what is a great concept and a great franchise in general. I can't help but wonder why.
Agreed. This show has been more entertaining than half of the filth on TV that has been going on for 4+ seasons, I can't understand why this isn't getting renewed even for one more season.![]()
Why does every show i seem to get into get Firefly'd![]()
It seems, at least to me, that the good shows get cancelled way too early, and the crappy shows continue on and on when they shouldn't have been made in the first place. Combine that with humanities inherent stupidity and how most people watch said crappy shows and I'm not surprised when I find a show I like and it get cancelled 2 seasons in.
Exceptions, such as SG-1 lasting 10 seasons, exist of course.
And as for someone trying to bury the franchise, i agree that this is the case. The movies would make them money, if for nothing else then having the Stargate name on the box. The fact that they shelved obvious money makers make it obvious to me that someone doesn't want the Stargate franchise to continue.
Its not that they dont want it to continue, its that they just dont care. SyFy only cares about ratings now. Which is obvious if you've seen the shit they are throwing at us now. Wrestling and ghost hunting bullshit. Its shows for people who don't have an ounce of intelligence in their bodies. They are trying reach the masses of fucking slack jawed hill jack pieces of shit because they want to make money more then they care about the quality of television they are producing.
There were about 3 years or so when SciFi was producing great television. They had a vision they were working towards and it was fantastic. Then something happened and it all went to shit. I would really like to know what happened. Did someone retire? Did someone get fired? Some asshole get promoted? Who knows. But I genuinely hope they die.
RIP SciFi
*cry*
Posting again just because.
I'm sure Stargate will be brought back in the future. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next year, maybe not even this decade, but I'll always hold on to the hope that it will one day come back.
From the Syfy website FAQ:
Lying faggots.2. Does this mean you're changing your programming?
No! We've always defined "sci-fi" a lot more broadly than most people, and Syfy is a way to recognize the programming we already have on our channel, from Stargate and Eureka to Ghost Hunters and Scare Tactics. For us "sci-fi" includes a broad range of imagination-based entertainment, including science fiction but also fantasy, the paranormal, adventure and others. Syfy helps us define our unique take on the genre.
Ok, last one, I promise, just venting the rage.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU UUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
