The temptation here is to say that you're boned.
Bleh, I was afraid of that :/ Oh well, I've already restarted and am on my way to where I was haha. Also, do you guys think it's worth the risk of downgrading the firmware on my PSP so I can run things like Homebrew?
I know, I really want things like a SNES emulator and stuffBut, I think I have one of those "Fake" memory sticks or whatever, so should I even bother? I mean I've tried to download things of PSN and it doesn't work, every download says it's corrupted and can't play. If that's the case I'll just buy a new memory stick. But can anyone please direct me to a place where I can get directions for how to do this? Good ones too, I'm afraid to try some random site and fuck up my PSP haha.

Very nice site with info on everything. Tricky process to research everything but once you get it.... you should have no problems. Until my PSP got stolen I had all emulators and tons of homebrew running on mine.
To sum most of it up.... you need a "Pandora battery" to make a "magic memory stick".
There is a possibility that you can make your battery a "pandora", but that depends on your exact battery. If not, you can buy them from some place in Hong Kong. I don't remember where but MAKE SURE you research the seller...... Sony PSP Mod & PSP Hacks Forums - Powered by vBulletin should have a list of bad/good sellers of pandora, so dont overspend if you cant afford it.
After you get those two pieces, you're all set to do what you want with your PSP. The site has guides galore, just do your research![]()
They have software you can DL that will just make the magic stick for you. I know some fake sticks are usable and some are not. I do not know the difference, but I'm sure it's documented on the forums linked above.
For the battery, since I don't know anyone else with a PSP and didn't want to take mine apart, I bought a converter that Datel/Codejunkies makes. You just put your battery in it, hit the switch, use to boot up magic stick, put battery back in device, and switch back to normal battery. That way you can use a normal battery for the Pandora battery and it's super simple to use.
I'm sure there are easier ways to do this also but after much research I decided that was the easiest for me.
And yea it kicks ass to have GBA/SNES/PSP Rips etc. while traveling or whenever.
Edit: this is the site I used and they have links to lots of software/homebrew that is nice to have, and the forums there are helpful too since they have several guides and many of them are stickied.

Make sure if you try to make your own pandora battery via softmod.. to back up your battery information to your memstick (programs will still have a default info) but is best to keep the original information alive.
PS: The program that makes the pandora has this ability so nothing fancy to find to do it.
