EDIT: I read the article, they're displayports. Man, I just got a 4870 in January... I don't want to have to upgrade again. =(

The 5870 astounds me. It's just as fast as, if not faster than, the dual-GPU 48xx series cards, with improved AA/AF features, DX11 support, and very efficient power consumption, all in a single-GPU solution. The thing idles at only 27W, compared to much higher numbers from the 48xx series and the other competition. Assuming you leave your computer on 24/7, upgrading to this card would likely pay for itself over a period of time just due to the idle power savings.

I need to look into that further. Regardless, this is a hot card.

While I had hoped they'd kept their ridiculously low pricing scheme so I could just up and buy one immediately, the price they're asking is hardly unreasonable for the increases, heh.

God I want one though. It's going to be tempting not to get one since, if any of the rumors are true, the GT300 is months & months away.

Man wtf has AMD/ATI been drinking these last 2 line releases. They went from virtually non-existant competition, to extremely price competitive, to just out right dominating in performance and price. Of course the 300 could always amaze, but all indicators are that it won't (especially with how long its looking like it will take for it to come out).

Also I love how looking at the 3D mark scores on the tomshardware review gives you no indication whatsoever how it actually performs. Compare it to the scores for all the individual games, sometimes its close, sometimes its way off. I'm glad most review sites have trended towards actual game tests now, its much more useful imo.

Also is anyone else having serious nostalgia moments here with Eyefinity? The Matrox Parhelia was such a cool concept but such a shit card.
