Go...
(lol)
I heard it has a 3 hour battery life.
If that's true... LOL.
It's wayyyy expensive. I don't know how they think people would dish out 250$ for a mini PS1/2 when a PS3 is 300$
Only reason I want one is to download PSN movies and old PS1 games.
Debating trading in my old one though...![]()
I have a psp-3000 I bought a few months ago, thats acting up now.... will shut down randomly or sometimes not read games until the psp is restarted.
I have the gamestop warranty on it..... so when I goto exchange it, if they give me my money back on a gift card I will probably just buy a psp go when it comes out.
I'd only do a trade-in for one if it knocks a good chunk of the price off. (which it wouldn't in my case since I have a currently-busted PSP-1000)
There's no way I'm paying full price for that. You'd think cutting out the UMD drive would make the unit cheaper, but I guess that 16gb of built-in flash (non-volatile I assume) storage costed a bit more than it should.
Going to wait for a hands-on myself if they ever have kiosks for them. Not going to consider one personally until CFW comes out for it, since CFW just opens so many doors for potential for the PSP series.
Haha, Go. DarkAlex is working on something for it (apparently), but it rocks my socks that the certain country completely refused to sell it, on the premise that it cut into their game sales.
moar liek psp no
more expensive for less functionality? oh boy. might have been worth it with a second stick, but you're better off looking for a hackable 2000.
I hope it doesn't cost Sony much because it's not going to sell well being the first digital distribution-only system. It's a good idea but I'm not sure how well the whole thing is being run (costs too much, haven't seen a list of titles that will be available for download come release, probably will not be able to put games you already have as UMD onto it).
Thats what i'm wondering as well..... What games am I going to be able to download?
All the ones on the Media Go software are old school PSP titles, nothing fairly recent at all.
Now if they came up with some device... that I could dump my owned UMD's to the PSPgo's memory then i'd be all for it. However, such a device will never exist.
The PSP Go looks horrible. The "more expensive for less functionality" comment seems to sum up my feelings for it. They really should have waited until the "next gen" to release this (well, an updated version of this), but instead, released it about halfway through the PSP's life? Seems really stupid and I don't see why anyone would buy this unless they stop production on the old models.
The only reason if PSPGo becomes successful is if they offer the function to transfer UMD games to Digital downloads for the Go. If not then fuck you Sony.
They are most certainly going for an "handheld entertainment system", which is probably how they are going to try to justify the price tag.
Too expensive, but I'll wait and see for now.
Dunno, people are paying 600~ for phones these days, I hardly see 250~ (212 on dells site) as a huge thing. As far as the psp go is concerned in itself, I've actually heard nothing but good reviews about it as far as not causing as much hand cramping, which any game on the currentgen psp that uses the joy stick seems to constantly cause. PSP 3000 is listed around 170~ new... so paying 40 bucks and getting 16gigs internal memory is not all that bad. (seeing as the slew of knock offs at 16gigs is ever growing, and the fact even the knock offs are more than 40~).
I know you can get a psp3000 cheaper used etc etc, but that is besides the point. The point is, the only thing thats really preventing anyone from purchasing the psp go is if you can put a cfw on it, and whether or not sony will actually release all the titles on the PSN, and allow for people to download the games they purchased.
Only way I can see that working if they some how have a way of having you provide a number on umd or something, that allows for a single download. Personally think it looks nicer than the 2000, would like to mess around with one myself in person in the future. I'm sure they will probably implement this with future games, sorta like the wii website has where you can register code inserts towards stuff, however the code allows for a digital download... or something.
I think the games will prevent a lot of ppl from buying the GO both newcomers and ppl that want to upgrade their PSP, if u want to upgrade a PSP how are you going to play your old games? and if u are a newcomer how are you going to play old games? are they going to digitize the whole game catalog? and now with news that the PSP going to have a price drop Sony just shot themselves on the foot.

Sony To Outline PSP Go UMD Transfer Service During TGS Keynote? - G4tv.com
Not keeping up with TGS so no clue if this allready happened.
Looks like PSP owners who buy a PSPGo will get 3 free games.
MAXCONSOLE - Playstation Portable - Old PSP & UMD owners, get three free games with PSPGo
Yeah, to add to my original post -
I had a PSP-2000 (white) and FF Tactics (my fav game of all time) and it was stolen at my old office. So I waited this long to replace it knowing the PSP Go was coming out.
But now that it's almost out, and I have it pretty much paid off @ gamestop I'm getting upset at Sony's lack of marketing. They want me to spend 250 dollars + on a system that is download only, but they refuse to add games to the store or even issue a press release with a list of confirmed games until the thing is already in stores (and even then, i'm only assuming!).
For all I know I'll buy it Oct 1st and what's currently in the PSN Store is all I'll get.
And if I can't get FF Tactics (PSP Version) then I don't want it.
The device itself is super sexy, though.
If anyone looks at the PSN today they added 4 games for PSP, manhunt 2($30), midnight club 2 and 3($20), power stone($20) and Valhalla knights($15). Maybe they will have a bigger library by the time the Go comes out but still i find the old PSP better(just my personal opinion).
