I kinda see it going this way.

Microsoft acquires EA but does not stop EA from operating independently and developing cross platform games. Instead, all EA multiplatform games now immediately become free timed exclusives for Microsoft. That way the 360 or whatever the current console is, gets Madden, NCAA or whatever a month or 2 ahead of any other console, giving Microsoft a HUGE advantage over all the competition for the EA studio games.

^Its not going to happen. They can't really aggressively buy out a company, especially a very profitable and famous one like EA and ask them to favor a console "that way(like a fucking loser console fanboy)." I mean technically they can, but they won't.

If they buy EA completely(not likely), they'll just get the profit.

I really don't see it happening unless Microsoft would make an absolutely absurd offer. EA is arguably the biggest third party developer around right now(can't think of any off the top of my head that are bigger.) In the end though EA is concerned with their bottom line. So if Microsoft would make an offer that enabled EA to continue producing titles for other systems, while still making a large profit, it could happen.
