You know when SE says an all new system involving items I wonder if they mean that dagger. Maybe they'll try to add weapons that can "level up" in a sense? Like you can earn EXP on them then spend EXP to improve their stats. Like more damage, accuracy/attack, enmity, etc.

That would be awesome but SE would never do that cause it's too awesome for them. But if they did it, you would have to kill 5000 x mons, get 3 key items from three different NMs that require doing a long path 'ala ZNMs, farm up 500,000 x items for another upgrade and get a specific key item from AV for its final form.

Either that or when you level up the stats, it's completely random!

True got a point, however that's just my guess on this new item system until we get info.

Hope that pot thing is something you throw augmented items into and get them back without augments(even if the item remains EX and you can't re-augment).

The pot thing is shown to be outdoors so I don't think it's related to MMM.

Unless there is a really serious MMM makeover on the way.

They'd have to adjust Nanatasuachooaughshitthere'sbloodinmysnototachi if they did adjust Zanshin, wouldn't they?

Clearly they'd make Zanshin proc in hits that don't miss, and do double Damage and give Triple TP Gain.

I think that the augment system could be improved rather easily without exactly breaking the game, or taking away from the need to have negative stats to promote "balance".

Select your regime and then trade the book your gil, seals, or a piece of armor to dictate what you are pursuing, and receive either an EXP orb, a gil orb, or a blank augment orb (specifically usable only for items that are equipped in the same slot as the one you traded) to trade to the ??? on the field. Trade the augment orb, defeat the mob, and then receive an orb with an augment assigned to it (say, STR+1 DEX-1 MND-1 Wind+12) as well as the restrictions for the armor/weapon (i.e. all hand equipment level 45 and above) and then you use the orb like a crystal and then select whatever item you want the augment to be attached to. If you get a fail augment, you can just drop the orb and try again tomorrow, and if they dictate what slot/levels can use said augment orb they can still restrict the system without breaking it.

It'd be less annoying I think, and much more universally utilized.

This would never happen, its a great idea tho. The reason for this being that some items seem to have a "cap" Like str on a flame ring seems to never happen; on other things you can get str tho. Because of this it could break some items. unless SE did keep the "cap" and let us see it. To much work for them I would think. I do like that idea still ~_~

They probably thought it over and decided to buff the wyvern in other ways:

-Wyverns gradually get stronger as the DRG earns XP
-Wyvern breath attacks can magic burst
    -Wyvern got Subtle Blow added
-Wyvern got Acc Bonus II added (since it was added to DRG)

Or maybe they were just talking about the emotes that your wyvern can mimic

I'm pretty sure that DRG is now considered to be well-balanced and not in dire need of a boost.

Thought the main point of the augment system was to finaly rid the servers of some permanant items. Being able to erase an item or know what enhancement you have before applying it to the item... really defeats the entire point.

Now, i do agree that going 30 times with an item... only to recieve nothing of value... is really lame.

Perhaps make something that focuses augments to a random selection of melee triats, resist traits, or mage traits. Just to make it a little less random for people. Going up to 5 times till you get what you want is much more preferable than going 30 times. and it still retains one of the goals of the system. At any rate, you still need some sort of randomness in this.

Wish you knew how to read then, because my post was entirely about the augment system 'as a whole', not just worthless MMM.

Eh what i meant by it was they could tell it to stand back attack stuff like that. One my friends said that they where told at some fan fest that would happen? He could of just got things mixed up.

If they let wyverns morph into Charizards with a mind of their own I'd accept that.

Honestly, the fact that people will play what is essentially a lottery means augments are doing a Just As Planned here. If it was predictable, the flow of permament items out of the system would slacken badly. As it is, the possibility of rewards is a carrot fit to keep the entire player-herd running full speed.

If anything, to me it's like running a BCNM for that Utsu:Ichi scroll or whatever rare drop you're jonesing for. Instead of tossing seals in, you're buying an item off the AH. Doesn't guarantee you'll see what you want to.

Yes I'm pretty sure they did say that a while back.

The point of my post is that since that time, it would appear that they reconsidered this idea and decided to buff wyverns in other ways instead. I then went on to list examples of other ways they have buffed wyverns. It's probably safe to say that they did those other buffs instead of giving direct control.

I would pretty much assume that their idea of giving direct control of your wyvern has long since been tossed out in favor of those other buffs.
