That's actually got nothing at all to do with the majority of what's being said, but if it makes you feel better about contributing nothing worthwhile, feel free. The super self-righteous nonbotters (read: not all of them) are laughing it up like this is some super magical amazing action, but the straight truth is that serving one person with a cease and desist does not do much but delay those who would cheat from using these programs. It's only a matter of time before more of the same comes up because SE is once again treating the symptom instead of the sickness, and holy shit only 5 years late in doing so! Open your eyes: this did jack shit to combat other sources of similar actions and does nothing to prevent more of the same in the future.

Did some people lose a whole $20? Oh holy christ, they certainly did. I would be willing to bet that $20 is not something only kiddies with their parents' credit cards and college students can afford, however. That stereotype is a bit stale.

Also about the "list" you never know if its real or not. He just lost somethign that made him so much money at what 25 a pop and 2k-4k a pop? no reason at all that he might not try and take people down wiht him. they cant look on their servers(se) to see if said people botted/cheated/ whatever else app did. To much of a risk, with salv they could see where 3x items dropped easy to read in code easy to ban. this idk how they could.

Live with a lot of people losing money and a big program being taken down. that is how i see this, its a good thing and if se really did this a start to maybe them finding a way to end a large portion of bots.

edit: i do think that bots have to a certain extent affected the player skill at endgame in some situations such as on event stunned GoH, which is fucking pathetic anyone should be able to stun that legit.
And rdm's that think using PL bot for tank pt rdm at hnm's is being capable.

I just saw this thread. I rarely frequent the FFXI boards anymore . :< I was in Demo, I botted, I paid for it. I don't care. I had great times, and all the players held their own. Did I think any less of anyone that botted? Nope. Never bought any gil, though I sold my 3 characters and 40 million off. I hope whoever they are, they're having a great time!

Maury made a fuckton of money and if had thought of that shit way back in the day, I probably would have done the same.

Maury mentioned to me and I concurred that the business model for FFXI-App was niave and not well thought out. With no re-occuring costs, he was stuck supporting THOUSANDS of users indefinetly.

There is a big difference between having a few people with bots in an ls coordinating times manually and having 20+ people on a linked server staggering times. Not saying you are wrong though.

I have to agree, SE did a poor job w/ endgame. The main issue now is how much shit there is now compared to a few years ago. It just overwhelms you after awhile.
