I do love how you leap to defend your LS every time someone laughs at you for wiping to old and tried NMs. We prefer to only camp things when members need or want something, rather than out of routine, stand in DA everyday and have our whole LS roster change weekly because we suck so much.

Still, there's always plenty of retards out there ready to fill the new spots for you, at least until all of the sacks decide to quit/rmt/jump server like we all know they're going to.

Anyway, I ve never said we are the best of the server or something stupid like this... It was just funny we get Tia and faf the first day our nasa user had no bots anymore. "Quality" linkshell era of midgard has passed long long ago. Competition has died 2~3 years ago and somewhat took down the quality and drama with it.

Ambition? Haha, no. They are server bouncers that nobody cares about. Above average English-speaking linkshells on the server were Valor, Rzeero(still around, just don't do hnms I believe), PO, PV at its peak...and so on..may be missing a couple of them here, sorry! That should be the era Uryuu was talking about.

And there was this JP Phantom/Wyrm Brigade and xCompany of course, they kicked ass back in 2006~2007.

No-one said anything about any LS being zomgawesome on Midgard, other than PW and AV kills nothing is impressive anymore, so how to judge how good a shell is? Wiping to Tia with 18 is definite fail, and that's where Pers come in, off day or day.

Just because you were in Valor doesn't make them good back in the day, they were awful. New Company and PO always set the standard.

This one and some of the other topics about means to alter the game to player's advantage (dat swaps in SiAC ENM to name the latest) make me wonder how in general it will be adressed by BG community in FFXIV. Will it be taboo to talk about it on these boards (deleting topics or hidden forum for "the chosen") when game is relased to public or will it be more like "well we did it in FFXI why not play new game same way from start and if you think different we will sic Sath on you, your family and your dog" kind of thing?

It depends on the game design really. At first community justified the use of applications like TParty and windower(seriously, not being able to alt+tab was retarded) because they thought(and I do, too) hiding them didn't really make sense. Back in the early days botting was also a taboo, at least it was something not many people were willing to admit...then people justified the use of bots because they thought the "king" system was flawed and frustrating since "everybody bots".

If BG ends up being popular among FFXIV communities that'll also influence the stance. I am expecting FFXIV to have a much larger playerbase at start than FFXI did since online gaming is much more accessible and popular today than it was back in 2001(remember how a crapton of FFtards raged at FF11 just because it was an online game?). Chances are pretty high that a random ps3 FFXIV newbie will consider 3rd party applications and certain DaT swappings as a cheat...and this time around, there'll be a lot of them.

Yeah there is even a beta .exe of an appv5 lol... nothing epic that bypasses anything from what it looks like... and no source code, but jesus christ theres alot of financial, personal, and linkshell related material in there.

Ugh, I am so glad I was on midgard for the almost 5 years I was before persistence came. They just seem like such garbage.

They're pretty dopey, Toyo. For example, last month a BRD acquaintance of mine got an invite to a meripo that had 3 Persistence members in it. They're not too popular on the server, so he and his LS decide to MPK them for fun.

They were so clueless that they didn't even realize they'd been deliberately killed, lol.
