The problem is all advertised bots will all be shut down within a short time. Apps was just the largest one and the first to fall. Give it less than 2 months and the only bots around will be stuff like Arenz and JP bots which are not advertised.

If SE really did go after him it was because he marketed it as FFXI-App. That would infringe on their IP and give them a legal reason to shut it down.

and im curious just to hear QQ's about ppl who wasted 3 grand on it. i know im not rich by any means and i live in a fucking city where ppl think its ok to pee in the stairwells of my apartment, but im assuming even wealthy people wont think 3 grand is something to waste on a videogame ring that takes away 10% dmg

agree on both points. I do wonder if App just wasn't getting enough new customers to make it worthwhile, and maury just wanted a graceful way to bow out.

at first i didn't think it mattered one way or the other, but if SE is on a lawsuit spree, i want to hold off on replacing app with another pay to use bot.

And yes, i used app daily, but i never used the claim function. i like the convenience and advantages botting provides, but i don't want to do it at other players' expense.

I would love to see the reaction of some of the people who paid for NASA recently. But yea, this would have meant something had SE done it years ago to scare bot makers. Even then, unless they turned around and added a Warden-style program, all the lesser known bots would just fill the gap. As it stands, all they did was kill the most talked about bot. I just can't wait to see if they start chest-thumping about it on their site or in interviews.
