Rise of the Video Game
I have read your topic. What's useful innformation for my job.
I do agree with you. Those are the most effective way
have a blessed day
A reply in Haiku needed.
I dont want underfloor heating.
Still say Attenborough.
Henry Miller Odyssey
Even if you're not familiar with his writing, this is a most interesting film.
I agree with most of these. Let me add a few that were not yet mentioned:
Tyson -- You'll never view the man the same way again.
Who Killed the Electric Car? -- Makes me upset that the car companies are anti alternative fuels.
Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room -- This movie will piss you off.
Wordplay -- Actually pretty interesting doc about crossword puzzles.
Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price -- If ever you want to reinforce your anti-Wal-Mart sentiment.
Trekkies -- The pinnacle moment in this movie was when the male dentist admitted that he dressed up like Tasha Yar when he role played with his wife.
Darkon -- Delves into the world of fantasy role players. Like the movie "Role Models" but real life...kinda.
Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession -- I'm a film buff so this movie was in my zone.
Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr. -- About a creepy guy who invents a "better" electric chair then tries to "scientifically" prove that the Holocaust was not real. This guy is so full of himself. It was great seeing him use faulty logic to make himself look like an ass.
Hearts of Darkness -- For fans of Apocalypse Now. Even if you're not, it gives good insight on how movies are made.
That's Entertainment -- Again, I'm a film buff. This doc is about the golden age of musicals.
An Inconvenient Truth -- Whether you believe in global warming or not, the points they make are pretty jarring.
This Film Is Not Yet Rated -- It's amazing that we have given a secret group of people the power to determine what is morally acceptable in movies.
Spellbound -- This doc appeals to my geek side.
Lost in La Mancha -- I'm a Terry Gilliam fan. The doc is a bit slow but it shows how "cursed" Gilliam is when making movies. It is even more poignant when you think that Heath Ledger died during the filming of Terry's latest film. The guy just can't catch a break.
Beyond the Mat -- a behind the scenes doc on professional wrestling.
The World According to Miley Cyrus -- OK, just kidding.
Also watched and liked Who killed the electric car
Why We Fight - interesting piece about the industrial military complex, about the companies that profit, govt contracts, etc.
Shark Week.Spoiler: show
Also'ing Planet Earth. Love BBC and Discovery
Just watched Darkon. Weird, weird people. Interesting. Scary parallels to MMOs.
I don't think I can ever do LARPing
maybe if I got high
National Geographic's Inside North Korea
Super Size Me
Jesus Camp
@fishstix,
who's in your avatar?
its been bugging me...
The Corporation
seconding/whatever-ing Blue Planet. Also the "Life" series that started on BBC the other night.
Pretty much reccomending anything David Attenborough has done lol, I love his programmes
Helvetica
Manufactured Landscapes
Oh, and the recently aired The National Parks: America's Best Idea was great. I think it's Ken Burns' best work, even though the Transcendentalist and Romantic era poetry, writing, and sentiments gets a little tiresome after a while.
Jesus Camp
Tyson
( Religulous is kinda shallow to be honest ).
Uh Anything Louis Theroux...if his series count?
Crap I can't remember the name of it but there was a phenomenal documentary about the Battle of Stalingrad on the History channel. Tons of footage of the actual battles themselves. Fantastic documentary to watch. They interviewed a slew of survivors from the Russian, German, and Romanian armies. I'll see if I can find the title if you want me to.
Probably the best documentary ever.
