strange teamspeak problem

i did a search but couldn't turn up anything that seemed relevant, maybe someone's encountered this before.

for the quick background, this is using the latest TS client, winXP pro, and using my macbook's built in mic for input right now.

problem is, i can talk to everyone just fine, but it's having some kind of pitch-shifting effect and apparently i sound like a chipmunk to everyone else in the channel. while this has provided some moments of hilarity and entertainment for everyone else, it does make communicating in any meaningful way kinda difficult <_< i've looked all over, fiddled with various codecs, input device selections, disabling directinput etc. etc. and nothing seems to work.

any ideas?

Do you hear the same problem in test mode?

If you have a way to connect a dumb client to your TS system and see if you can locally reproduce it, it may help narrow down the problem.

yeah, it does that in local test mode as well. tried every single codec that came with the installation, and it does that with every single one.

Is there any additional software installed with your audio card/headset/mic? See if there's an effects filter in there if so.
