Michael Bay, you son of a bitch. From the trailer, it looks as if he's going to pretty much go with the original storyline. I'd be all for this if he did it a-la The Departed and made a scene by scene remake. Please, don't fuck this up. It's my favorite genre of movie and my favorite horror series ever.

Departed wasn't an entirely shot for shot remake...

Also just to play Devil's Advocate about Bay, I did immensely enjoy Con Air and The Rock. Also Bad Boys was good so he CAN make an above average popcorn flick.

Also Armageddon(it was okay) and The Island(cannot believe this is him since it was fairly high concept..). He gets maligned for shit like Pearl Harbor and Transformers but he isnt as bad as he is made out to be clearly.
