new tatoo question! help needed!

If you put a "M" on one butt cheek and a "M" on the other then it will say MoM and when you are lying on your back you could pull your knees up to your chest and it will say "WoW"

My first tat I got I covered up and put vitamin E on it, and it healed like shit. My second and third tats I never covered them up at all, and they healed faster/better than my first. All I did was put Lubriderm lotion on them and in a few days they were pretty much healed.

ive never covered them back up after ive gotten them everytime i get one they always tell me once you get home take the serrain wrap off washing with soap and put on a & d and leave it like that

anyway, I looked up the oitment Ive been using (HARDFORD.se - Jukon) and it seems the common ruling is the same nono as you guys seem to have due to it containing lanolin, but then again, its worked wonders for me so...

btw, I have a feeling wrappings are better since bandages would just soak up anything moistening the tats. dunno if bandages lets it breath better tho.

Yeah I mentioned no to vaseline but it is worth saying again and again because it is bad for tattoos.

Also with respect to the plastic wrap thing. You should only have the plastic wrap on the tattoo on the day you get it and only leave it on until the tattoo stops bleeding then take it off.

This. After 24 hours, use a lotion like Lubriderm (was mentioned earlier) 3-4 times a day until it is fully healed. After it's fully healed, lotioning it once a day will help it keep the color longer. Also, when you go outside, wear long sleeves to cover it from the sun, you don't need to bandage it up or anything. This applies both while it's healing and after it's healed.

wow guys i appreciate all the info its helped alot. my tats are still a lil sore and not started to scab just yet. it was a bitch to put my welding sleeves on with the gauze and tape tho. hopefully tomorrow i wont have to use the gauze to cover them up under the sleeves. again highly apreciate all the info

Don't want to hijack your thread but I've been thinking about getting a tatoo for a while now and haven't felt the need to make a thread on it. I want something small on either my right upper bicep/shoulder or back shoulder blade. Anyone have any suggestions or cool ideas they've seen/have? I don't want the same old kanji or tribal stuff that everyone and their mother has.

You can find designs in some of the strangest places if you pay attention. I got mine off of a lighter a friend had at a party. Found out later that the design was done by a tattoo artist but still happy with the results. Still need to get the damn thing filled in though.

My favorite thing to do when I see people with these two styles of tattoos is to fuck with their ego. A simple "So, what tribe are you from?" or a well timed "Dude, that shit doesn't say <Love and Peace> it says <Sweet and Sour>" can go a long way.

I recommend spending a looooong time deciding on what exactly you're looking for and where you want to get it and who to get it done by. If they are brand new you do NOT want to put bandages on them. You're supposed to let them breathe a little. Your tattoo shop should have told you all of this, especially if it's your first ink. Also since it looks like they didn't tell you much, your skin is going to peel like a mother fucker right where you got the tattoo. That's 100% normal and nothing to worry about at all.

As to what to use to afterwards, I never went with Lubriderm. I always used Tattoo Goo. It helps with quicker healing and it helps keep the colors from dulling.
