How come people get tattoos where they can't see it themselves? Like shoulder blades, tramp stamps, etc? I never understood that.

I've got a full sleeve on my left arm and finishing my right arm at the moment.
You want to keep them uncovered. You want to use a Vitamin D ointment (A&D ointment works the same). I assume your welding gloves are thick, thus you will have to watch the way you sweat lol for cleanliness. Depending on how deep the artist did his work, you might still be bleeding and sweating will cause that all to run, along with inks. Please do not listen to the people who tell you to put neosporin on your new ink. . . Those are likely coming from people who know nothing, or got tattoo'd by a guy named Bubba in someones garage. Do clean it though, a washcloth with warm water and run it over, but do not apply pressure as this can release more blood and ink. Just make sure you take proper care of it. The way you take care of it can determine if it looks good when its done healing.

When I first got my tattoo done the guy went way too deep. It hurt like hell but I didn't know any better because it was my first tat. The tat is on my back over my spine and there is not much flesh over your spine. Needless to say instead of just bleeding for a bit and then peeling it scabbed over big time with big thick scabs. He went way too deep. So now my entire tattoo is raised slightly from scar tissue. I had it redone recently and the second time a different guy actually knew what he was doing and it healed much faster and much darker and it never scabbed over just kinda peeled a little.

Really research your artist before having them put a needle to your skin.

Yeah, imo your getting tattoos that appeal to you and you know they are there. I don't look down at my arms everyday to look at my work. I know whats there and every detail about it. I guess its just me. I was walking with a friend who has like 2 tattoos and was like "we're like a walking tattoo convention" needless to say I don't hang out with him because he's completely idiotic. I mean yeah your two tattoos seriously rock! :X. Anyways I guess I get mine for artistic appeal. I enjoy going to the store and the cashier/checker squinting to see my stuff. I mean really just ask already lol.

When I was working at the hospital I always got weird looks from Doctors and Employees. The patients didn't care one bit. Did I care no. Did they ever make me cover them, No. To each his own. We're evolving into a world where tattoo's are becoming a norm. People will get over it.

fortunately its not scabbing much and just peeling like a sunburn. been putting vitamin E cream on it atleast once a day along with the a & d ointment 2 - 3 times a day

If is stopped bleeding and is peeling like a sunburn now stop the A & E ointment and switch to only using the lotion. At least that is what I did, and was told to do by others.

This. Don't even try to rub off any of the shit flaking off/peeling. Seen too many tats go to shit b/c people just couldn't leave them alone.

Of course, if you get free touch ups it's not as big of a deal (though they'll probably give you shit about it, and rightfully so). Always ask your tattoo artist if they offer this. Most do. I'd avoid those that don't.

Yeah most tat artists should give at least one free touch up. Inevitably no matter how well you take care of it there will be a couple spots that might not take and need to be redone. I had to have mine touched up twice before it looked solid.

Yeah. I've had to get my knuckles touched up 3x so far. One of the worst areas to get tattooed as far as fall out.

I've been debating a design for about a year or so now, was just curious if anyones seen anything really neat that stood out. I've always been leaning towards something like this, or similar to it.
