Ill attach my latest version of my Pld spellcast as well when Im done modifying it:
PLD
Gear Sets
Note the gear in each Set changes based on SJ:
- Non TP idle (when not in atonement spam mode, this is the set you idle in for that SJ)
- TP (When in atonement mode, this is the TP set you use with that SJ)
- Kiting (Red legs, swaps shield gear for -PDT and other kiting related pieces)
- MDB (Full MDT/MDB build)
- Terror Set (full -PDT)
- Chilvary (Mnd, mp, etc)
- Full Emnity Set (Macros in for specific actions and atonement)
- Max haste set (Ni, Reprisal)
- Haste/Emnity set (Hybrid emnity/haste set for flash and /rdm spells) Incorporates Hydra haubert/bahamut mask over turban/FC body)
- Rampart set (Valor head, full vit everywhere else, this can be made into 2 sets, one that focuses on emnity for the action, and one that focuses on HP+ for the stoneskin effect).
- Refresh base (This includes ares body/parade gorget) and can be used to replace whatever base body/neck you have in other sets based on conditions you set (like low mp, no ballads, etc).
- Hp Down (Precast for your cure swaps)
- Hp Up (midcast for your cure swaps) Includes emnity, hp+, and Hospitaler's earring)
- Resist Sets
- Spell Interupt set! (Mid cast for your Ichi, and a few other spells) Extremely powerful. Knightly earring, resolute belt, Karasut boots, valor legs, etc).
Note that your base idle sets for each SJ should change based on your HP % (my base idle set for /nin when not in atonement mode starts off with a lot of homam, loq. earring, etc, then moves to Kaizer and more shield gear as my max MP goes down. This allows me to keep the maximum lvl of survival while not sacrificing 200+ mp). Your base idle set, when not in atonement mode, should focus on reducing the emnity lost via damage taken (by reducing the damage taken >.>).
Necessary Functions
- Cure swaps
- Swap in relic feet for sentinel and max emnity set
- Swap in rampart set for rampart, chivalry set for chiv.
- Change between idle sets based on SJ and MP lvl.
- Change between refresh/functional pieces based on user input or buffs
- Valor body for cover
- Bash gear + emnity for Shield bash
- Pld lvl 70 JSE earring when in critical HP
- Puts in Shield Torque over Parade Gorget when Parade Gorget's HP/MP% criteria isnt met.
Optional Functions
Nothing is optional. Play your best or dont play my job.
WHM

* Cure 1-4,Curaga, (Enmity Down)
* Cure 5 (Potency,MND)
* Enfeebling
* Repose
* Banish (relic hands)
* Holy
* Enmity Down (Flash)
* Fast Cast (for precast)
* Haste (for na spells/haste/regen)
* Barspell
* Stoneskin (focusing on haste and mnd setup here should be easy with blessed to cap and get lots of haste)
* Aspir (ignore any haste, just make this as potent as possible)
* hmp
Necessary Functions
* Swap in relic body for regens
* hmp swap when resting , return to idle set after
* switch to appropriate set based on spell
* switch to appropriate staff for spells, or club/shield for cures(templar mace + shield)
* Precast all cures in cure clogs
Optional Functions
* Swap in Conserve MP (seveneyes comes to mind) when it wont effect haste/emnity/potenc
* Melee sets/rules would be great
* Devotion/Martyr -> a max HP setup that will lock all slots , cure self and then use Devotion/Marty and then unlock slots
Eh, I disagree with some of what you're doing here.
First off, Devotion/Martyr key off current HP. So to begin with, it needs to be clarified that the devotion set is not put on when you use devotion, but rather needs to just be a separate macro to equip so you can cure yourself before using devotion.
Second off, it's never worth using a Martyr set. A lot don't even merit it, but if you are going to use it, it's either to not aggro magic or to use a quick instant heal, or because you are out of MP and want to get off 1 last cure. I guess in the situation of the first, you could run out of range, put on your martyr set, cure yourself, then run back into magic aggro range to use martyr...that seems like something you wouldn't really be doing still though. Most the time, you're just going to hit it, and using mp or time to cure yourself up first is not worth it. Even devotion sets don't actually generate more MP for the alliance, they just basically trade roughly 1:1 mp from the white mage to a paladin (and granted, the pld can't rest and the whm can, but that's the only benefit to a devotion set).
Second, banish and holy should have different sets (relic gloves anyway), so holy should be mentioned (since holy is nice with solace now).
Regen should get haste + relic body. Stoneskin should have haste in it as well, should easily be able to cap with haste gear (blessed+turban+swift), and just put mnd in other slots.
Aspir may want a note that unlike rdm/blm/sch, haste is a useless stat, as you're limited by grimoire recast, so really 1-2 int is better than any amount of haste, as is leaving your max mp at a decent level.
Entirely optional but you may want to add in checks for Allied Tags for the Campaign specific gear. For example the VIT piece for MNK Chakra. Not something you'd want to use unless tags are active.
RDM
Gear Sets
* Idle (Refresh, Movement Speed)
* Resting
* Fast Cast
* Healing
* Enhancing
* Enfeebling Accuracy
* Enfeebling Full MND
* Enfeebling High resist MND
* Nuking
* Dark Magic/Chainspell Stun
* Melee
Necessary Functions
* magic acc for spells indifferent of MND
* Healing set combining fast cast
* for HNMs etc, a rule that determines your enfeebling set based on target is highly desired
* locking of gear until the MP it provides is used up (nothing more annoying than having ~1000 MP in idle set and losing 300 of it to cast Para/Slow)
* locks main weapon when engaged so that cure macros will not interfere, and put back melee gear on after casting any spell that changes it
Optional Functions
* Elemental Obis
* ToAU Ring
* Convert set (mine is usually pretty close to the idle one)
SMN
Gear Sets
* Idle
* Idle With Avatar
* Resting
* -BP timer
* Physical Rage BP
* Magical Rage BP
* Ward BP/Elemental Siphon
Necessary Functions
* Idling with an avatar changes gear according to day/weather and avatar. Garuda has her headband, so there needs to be a variable for that as well as AF2 horn, AF2 body and Penance Robe/Royal Redingote with perp augment
* When issuing a BP it has to put -BP timer gear on as precast, the respective damage type gear as midcast, and back to the avatar idle set after BP damage
Optional Functions
* Moogle hat reward with dmg reduction augment for when avatar is meleeing
* ToAU Ring
* /SCH sub support for Aspir/Drain/Sleep/Dispel
Shouldn't have the ifengagedlockmeleegear function if you plan on tanking on rdm. Optional functions could include swapping into fast cast before each spell. Enmity on barspells/bind/sleep/blind/dispel/etc while engaged. MDT set. I don't personally use a PDT set because if I'm getting hit I'm probably casting anyway so it'd be for nothing but you can include that also.
For required you missed stoneskin gear and haste gear for ending haste/refresh/ni/ichi/na/erase/blink in. Convert gear should also be required. Idle gear is movement speed/PDT/MTD/refresh/regen gear. And I'm sure you meant it, but there should be two enfeebling accuracy sets, one for spells like grav/bind/sleep and another for slow/para.
Oh, optional could also have int rate- gear for stoneskin, ichi, and blink. Also, I guess, could have int potency gear for blind.
Yeah, I didn't list everything since probably other people will post their RDM suggestions. I kinda thought the point of the thread was for everyone to list their ideas so the OP can make a super-xlm for each job.
Just adding to your post instead of postin' my list![]()

Devotion/Marty sets probably do make more sense to just do with a macro, perhaps using a max hp set and then locking all slots curing self and using the ja, then unlocking all slots but if we were to not do that then yes a simple macro would do the trick just fine.
Good point on holy/banish I forget about the gloves because I have not managed to get them yet >< . I agree with you on Regen and it seems to me like thats what I said, but yes haste should be a priority with regen as well as swapping in the relic body midcast.
I will make the changes to my previous post
Updated the second post a bit, still working my way through. Trying to cover most of the major stuff, let me know if you see problems.
I'm still debating the best way to handle defining the actual gear-sets, I'm not sure if I should put example gear in there for people to replace (should this be ideal gear? Average gear?), or just explain how to define gear-sets and let them go from scratch.
As a heads up, Turban + blessed + Belt is only 19% haste, you need either Goliard and full HQ blessed, or capricorn and 2 HQ blessed to hit 26%. Personally, I use both (Goliard + 7is for non-regens where I cap haste, and Capricorn + AF2 body for regens) but you can't just say "blessed+turban+swift"
And yes, you're 100% right that with Aspir, we're limited by grimoire. Unless you know you'll have enough time to wait for the recast and do two before swapping, stacking M.Acc, skill, and int is the better option.
Don't want to turn this into "what's better?" thread, questions about optimal/doing-your-best-with-what-you-have gear questions go there.
I'd just replace gear sets with, and say you're doing rdm para/slow set, this:
Code:- <set name="EnfeeblingMagic-WhiteMagic" BaseSet="Standard"> <main>XXX</main> XXX <neck>XXX</neck> <lear>XXX</lear> <rear>XXX</rear> <hands>XXX</hands> <lring>XXX</lring> <rring>XXX</rring> <back>XXX</back> <waist>XXX</waist> <legs>XXX</legs> <head>XXX</head> <body>XXX</body> <feet>XXX</feet> <ammo>XXX</ammo> </set>
My WHM has an HP down set, since I use JSE ring, but this sounds like something a lot of people don't bother with.
There should also be a provision for starting cures in Cure Clogs, and other things in Rostrum Pumps (as well as any other FC gear, in both cases). There should definitely not be code by default that prevents you from casting Cure IV or curing RvB NPCs >.>
You shouldn't really need a dedicated Stoneskin set outside of your normal Enhancing set, if you're hitting 300~ skill you should easily be hitting enough MND to cap the rest from other slots.
For meleeing, I use a weapon lock rule, but only if I have Joyeuse or ESword equipped and am over 12 TP, this way nothing funky happens when I engage with Terra's or beavertail when set up to tank.
I keep my MDT gear on a plain windower script so I can just pop it in whenever I want and tap that macro when needed, didn't really feel like bothering with making a variable to make that my idle set or w/e.
Edit: almost forget re: other functions, making sure that you add some sort of MP gear lock when over xxx MP is good for Convert/resting to full so your MP doesn't get junked after your first action. That and I have a rule that locks Balrahn's in if I'm in any sort of Assault/Salvage zone.
Should be casting SS in int rate > haste = PDT gear imo ;x and no enhancing skill+ beats mnd that you can get in the same slot unless it's af+1 legs which is = to mahatma. Good idea on the weapon lock rule, and MDT set(full MDT gear) was to be used as a "windower macro" xD just wanted to point it out.
Comment I made on idle was just that you should be idling in not only movement speed gear but also terra's, umbra, PDT or MDT rings, etc etc if you have those.
I really like this idea. Would be willing to help out with it if you need anything.
I have a bad habit of this as well. I'm in the process of writing a couple of my own Spellcasts, but I have copied + modified ones from the user-provided ones on the Windower site as well.
