Dimm how are you posting from a riding lawnmower?
Man, really sucks. This is the part of life that frustrates me, as people often mistake me for a white guy when I'm hispanic. Kinda hard to beat a stereotype when a) other people in your culture fit it and b) you don't.
Come to NYC, I'll give you a tour.
Anyway the moment I stopped giving a shit what people thought of me irl was the moment I was able to transcend "expected" social norms. Most of the stereotypical shit you see is showboating. When you get them alone away from their element, you'd be amazed how much they change (sometimes.)
Didn't work for me. People here think I'm Mexican or Middle Eastern. I'm neither. I'm a Hispanic Jew whose parents converted to Catholic from Texas. I have no accent, I dont speak Spanish, I don't shave my head, I don't have tattoos, and I don't have my last name on the windshield of my car.
Is your last name Rodriguez?
I'm good...
Why do people have a hard time spelling Hispanic last names? You see on our cars, and on your favorite Baseball players jerseys, and yet you still cant spell our names right.
Its not like we spell it different on purpose like Black and white people do.
