I was going to consider mentioning it but i wasn't sure how Racc+5 would stack against STR+2 Rattk+5 from Amemet, etc.

-Mamool ja Earring has MND+3 and Reraise III enchantment, i consider that worth someones time no matter what job, for Reraise III, and on top of that awesome for Stoneskin build for alot of jobs. Only alternative as powerful in MND Section is the Celestial Earring, but it doesn't have Reraise III.
-I'm buying RR1 earrings because they are cheaper. RR3 is nice and all when you have it, but going out of your way to farm it isn't that great. Xping 1h, and using RR1 earrings is probably more time efficient than farming RR3 earrings. 3mnd is sweet for RDM though.

    -Gnole torque

    -Koggel
Good for blu, no doubt about it, but for the rest....

    -Hermine
Not terrible, but if you really want to get the best combo, you're in the wrong place. Solo use is very situational, and not many players would actually grind for that.

    -Lyco sash
Again, it's pretty damn situational. I have 8hp regen on war, and more is always welcomed. However, there isnt so many situation where I solo and would equip this over a haste belt (true for most jobs). I want 4% haste on utsusemi more than a 3sec regen. For idle, sure, but if HP was an issue, I wouldnt be soloing on that job.

I know what equipments you can get off MMM, and tried to convince people many time to come with me. However, I also now it's not really interesting compared to other events. MMM would have been a success if they had a series of belt/cape/neck for every job that destroy current alternative (3% haste cape with 4str), even if drop rate was ass, but sadly, it's not the case. It's very specific and situational gears.

If your limbus schedule isnt occupied, you can easily farm 50 coins per run every 3 days. You would get limbus mantle long time before you get everyone their mamool ja mantle.

It's okay for RDM, the random intimidates make celestial earring better though. Nobody gives a fuck about RR3, if you stress that much over 40k for a RR earring then you have better things to do than farm MMM. Something worth mentioning that a lot of people don't know: MMJ Earring can be dispelled. It fucked over an Apollyon SW run I was duoing hard, used it to sac on 1f and still got finaled(RR earring can't be dispelled). 1/1.

-Gnole Torque, while most people won't care about the MMP+3 Necklace, doesn't mean its not useful for every job that has MP and requires healing at some point in time. thats not even the best part, its the MND+5, which before MMM was not accessible to most jobs outside of a Sea Torque or a SMN/WHM Only neck armor.
Promise badge was already covered, it's an okay hmp piece. 0/73

-Koggelmander is a great weapon for any job that gets a use out of Sword, but mainly BLU gets the best power.
Every job that can use koggelmander has better options besides BLU. It's use is limited for BLU as well, since it'll allow beasts to intimidate you and perdu is a better all-around weapon. 1/1.

-Ermine's Tail is the greatest Eva -Dagger- thats available currently.
Ermine's is a neat toy, but more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. 1/1 for a friend, 0/80-something since then, using the exact same maze.

-Lycopodium sash is pretty beautiful when solo'ing, or for most jobs "Idle" Build, as its reported to give 3hp/tic during daytime.
    Eh, it's okay. 0/0

The droprates are confusing and illogical, it makes me feel that tiny differences between my mazes and the ones mentioned in the threads are cockblocking me(I do use Might/supreme might/proper stillness-motion, warrior size, family/etc).. and I don't understand why the droprates needed to be so obscenely low(as that's the only explanation I can think of for ermines since I know that maze drops).

    edit: fffffffffffuck, kaylia beat me by like 2 min with exact same text basically ._.;

Eh, Nearly every new item introduced in this age of the game is a Sidegrade i suppose. At least some of the items offer something new.

Lycopodiums' Regen+3 on a Belt is Still a great idle piece, situational or not. Ermine's Evasion+8 On a Dagger is still the greatest Evasion Build Dagger, Situational or not. Koggelmander's STR and DEX boost is still the greatest BLU Sword for the Big3, Situational or not.

and i guess i can come to agree, the drop rate is way to random, and i do feel bad for the people going 0/40/??++. My group must have been incredibly lucky :\. an increased drop rate will probably be all thats needed to breathe life into MMM again.

It's a horribly weak point to argue on BG that 1MND isnt worth MMM when many people on these boards QQ and bitch if you arent wearing Lamian Kaman+1 vs the NQ. Mamool Ja Earring exists, it is only TIED by Celestial which for 99.9% of players would take longer to farm gil/star sapphires for. Let's not attempt to downplay the value of an item just because it's slightly out of the way for your typical player.

Let me guess, if you could setup a belfry that spawned nothing but Colibri for 30mins then MMM V01 would be fucking win, sign me up? It seems that this would please the masses and then QQ would start when queues to go in started shit among players.

The birds EXP in MMM is easy and if you are wiping to triple bats/bats then perhaps your group should go back to drawing board. The point is that it is an option and people are enjoying it, whereas others would rather complain because their party is being camped on top of at Greater Colibri yet again.

Id love more real EXP camps but MMM Voucher 01 is doable and feasible for someone who doesn't want to merit all day or become stressed out when you overwork the BRDs or CORs. It is not the new greater birds but it is an option for a group of people who want to quickly get some EXP and get out.

MMM was more popular in the beginning? The only reason MMM popularity dropped off the map was because uninformed morons who could not grasp the idea of doing Voucher 06 spread that "OMG SE NERFED OUR MARBLE FARMING" and the clueless masses ate that shit right up, myself included. Does it remind you of something? The BST paranoia that plagued early FF, the lolDRG sucks at everything and finally the lolPUP craze.
I never said people on BG don't care about marginal gains. I said most people don't give a shit about marginal gains and that is the truth. Also, 'lol' at saying people are actually going to use the enchantment on the earring. I've seen less than 5 MMJ earrings on Phoenix and not one had a used charge. People like their blue numbers. You still haven't addressed the #1 problem with MMM which is the terrible drop rates on these tiny upgrades.

People are going to go where they get the best exp. We've all seen the topics about "If I can't get the best exp/hr I have better things to do!". What you're saying is MMM is a great place to exp if you're happy with less exp that takes more time to get(in the long run due to the restrictions on MMM).

MMM popularity dropped off for two reasons, not one, and I stated them both. CC points were a gimmick to get people to do less MMM and from what I've seen they do absolutely nothing for the R/Ex item drop rates. SE wanted people to do less MMM and it worked. It was a nerf no matter how you look at it and it pissed people off.

As a side note there are way too many Beast type mobs to make Koggel anything but a situational BLU weapon.

I don't think a Small Killer Effect from beast mobs would stop most dedicated BLU's from using one of their most powerful weapons.

Though i do agree the drop rate leaves a lot to be desired, and there should be a larger array of available awards you can receive with marbles outside of Placebo show items.

"Situational or not"? No, It is situational, sadly.

I know most gears in this game are sidegrade, but it's not always the case. Salvage for exemple offered best choice for multiples slot for nearly every jobs. Einherjar brought back some of the most wanted pieces and gave us a decent alternative to king, Nyzul is relatively rewarding as well.

Do you really think any of these events would have been a success if the only reward were stuff from MMM? I dont think so. You need more. You need at least a single major upgrade for every jobs.

    Gnole Torque vs Phi Necklace

Both require getting lucky on an out of the way drop, Imperial Code vs Nimble Nelson... both will take time.
    Advantage: Neither.

If your limbus schedule isnt occupied, you can easily farm 50 coins per run every 3 days. You would get limbus mantle long time before you get everyone their mamool ja mantle.
Actually after initially wiping Kendi (made it too hard, thing hit like Tiamat in 2hr mode), we got 5 mantles with 2 of those mantles being double drops. I don't really do Limbus but the comparable mantles force you to either sacrifice Ratt for Racc or vice-versa whereas the Mamool Ja Mantle offers a middle ground.

Celestial Earring is 10m, MMJ Earring is "free"... there's really no comparison here as most people will never, ever be able to reasonably afford it.

On drop setups? I always go with Family + Might + Job (WAR or BLM) + Stillness/Motion/None + Great Warrior/Tiny Warrior/None + Lost and Found. Occasionally i'll try to squeeze in something like Elemental Magic or Dark Magic as makes Goobbue/Dhalmel easier.

Didnt say it had an avantage. I posted it as an alternative. Because no one is farming phi necklace, I dont think people actually care about 3hhp. MMM group just go for it because they have nothing else to go for.

Have a hard time finding good Regen pieces on AH Tbh, but i do own Snakeeye, Orochi Nodawa, Lyco Sash, looking for anything else useful for my THF.

And i do believe that more rewards would be a wonderful idea, new items though, i don't want recycled hash. Right now i agree, items are situational, like almost everything... i think they should add more items to the marble reward categories, this way its a collective goal, rather than dumb luck. i think adding some of the drops from the NM's to the Marble Trade goblin for about 1,000 Marbles would be a good addition, as well as some new items.

Yay for something I actually know about, fishing, chocobo raising, and MMM~

Chocobo raising/racing/digging: I make 100K a day in the C1 race, and my bird wins often. The only reason people seem to hate it is they expect to be able to dump an egg off and get some badass motherfucking racing bird of pure 1337 with 0 to little work.

Then once they realize it takes about 24 hours total of racing to cap stats to win C1, along with tonnes of gil, they decide fuck it. I'd compare a chocobo to a guild, costs money over time to cap, reward at end over time.

As for the stadium and betting, once you get good at chocobo racing, you can start to predict at a glance what bird would win, and who would lose, I generally have about a 50/50 average on my bets. Sadly with new betting system you're stuck at winning about 10K a race no matter how much you bet, if your betting alone, cause the reward goes down as bets go up.

SE assumed thered by like 300 people betting on all the different birds, which is far from the case.

Chocobo hot and cold is nice easy money if you get good at that too, takes skill but once you memorize the distances you can easily dig up 20K to 50K items once a day, and sicne I normally dig in altep anyways with my bird, its not even going out of my way :D

MMM? First off, I staticed the V01 for exp in a 75 meripo for about a month, twice a week. We averaged 15~20K an hour. Havent done much of 2 and 3, but they look fun. As for the synth run, I agree, that shit needs to get fixed asap D:

Goblin run is imo one of the damn funnest events in all of ffxi. Running around, leveling gob, fighting mobs, taking down bosses, quest, etc. Its an entire mini plot every run, and a very good way to pass the time for fun and farming marbles.

I havent done much of the boss runs, but I've seen enough pieces of gear drop to others to consider the drop rate half decent. This is with CC marbles, so I'm not complaining.

And now being able to do 2 of my top 3 favourite pass times at same time? Fish AND MMM? <3333333~~~

You guys with your busy schedules and HNM timers and dyna and whatnot might not enjoy the freeformedness of MMM or whatever, but when your a guy like me that does whatever the hell he wants every day in ffxi, maybe fish a bit, go race my bird, level up WWing, go solo, campaign, I look forward to my daily MMM run, cause its a really good way to pass the time...

And really, isnt that what ffxi is? A pass time? Sometimes we forget this, and it takes camping an HNM for 15 hours for a drop we dont even want, to shake our head and go, "Wtf am I doing?"

Up the marble on #1 and #7 (half of what you get in #5/#6 maybe?), and sell abjuration for 1000, 2000, and 5000 points (hand/feet, legs/head, body).

Farm MMM every 3 days for half a years, and get the abj body you waited 5 years for! It wouldnt be ground breaking, everyone and their mother are sporting e.body now, and it would give a new breath of life to a system that is stalling.

Personally, I would rather see new equipments, but it would be a step in the right direction.

I'd rather have a bunch of new items, than the same old shit they've had since day 1. Maybe MMM specific Abjuration armor that isn't a flailing abomination of armor like Einherjar armor was. or maybe just regular old Items like Conquest Points / I.S / Allied notes except with Marbles.

Reveal the whole mystery behind upgrading titles (Which i think just depends on how many runs you've done), and add new items to each Rank (Title) You've unlocked.

they've already got a Ranking System (Titles), and point system (Marbles), all that needs to be added is items that aren't level 1 town Armor.

Since it was brought up like 3 times in the last hour. For BLU you definitely would want a Koggel if you can get one, and whenever you're doing something BLU/NIN (merits, nyzul, salvage, einherjar, etc.) you bring 3 swords. Perdu, Koggel, and for beast mobs frag/hofud/beast slayer depending on what you can get your hands on to swap out for koggel. You also don't want to do as someone seemed to suggest and just suck it up and take the intimidates on beast mobs, though.

Also, just to preempt anyone bringing it up, it's not an issue where you'd be losing a lot of TP by swapping weapons, since with Nyzul if you get a floor with beast mobs you just swap it out at the beginning and swap back next floor, likewise for a wave in Einherjar. Salvage you know what you'll be fighting and when (although ramparts have Vermin Killer, too). The only place where you'd be swapping back and forth often enough to be an issue would be Wivres in Colibri camp and well, you should be exping in MMM anyway.

Late edit: I guess wivres are actually lizards, not sure what I was thinking. Anyway, change "wivres in colibri" to "stablers at mamools" and preserve the joke lol

I would rather join random people who are asking for help in whitegate, than feed another fucking chocobo for 100 days.

Not everyone is busy with schedule by the way. I havent camped HNM in years, and everything I organized is done randomly, whenever I feel like it.

MMM Droprates can be bad but this is around half of what ive seen in a few months of doing it. All of these were post marble-nerfage, <3 me sum Duplidoc.

You need a semi-high rank to even do Imperial Code for a necklace and that only gives you one try per run (granted you even get the right ??? item). Most of the /t's i get (when i dont get ls members) for MMM is usually for Gnole Torque so id say the demand is there, just the lack of people willing to do the runs.

It was a nerf no matter how you look at it and it pissed people off.

As a side note there are way too many Beast type mobs to make Koggel anything but a situational BLU weapon.
It's been said before, simply take off the Koggel for Beast-types and use a Beast Slayer. Everything in XI is mostly situational, a simple lizard-affinity shouldn't be a reason to ignore one of BLUs top-5 weapons.

It may just be opinion but ive seen plenty of CC crate drops in 07 and it's just awesome for marble farming in 06 given you actually win.

Perdu, Koggel, and for beast mobs frag/hofud/beast slayer depending on what you can get your hands on to swap out for koggel. You also don't want to do as someone seemed to suggest and just suck it up and take the intimidates on beast mobs, though.
If that was unclear, I did not mean to suck it up and take the intimidates ._. I replace it with beast slayer because I don't care enough about BLU to get a hofud or frag, works out okay since beast slayer has killer. I just don't see koggel as that groundbreaking a weapon, minor mods that only compensate for the lower DPS/loss of acc/att vs perdu if you're spamming spells.

I do the same thing, with supreme might added. I got the 1/1 drops mentioned above, but also the completely absurd droprates listed above .__.; It's too random.

I didn't mean Koggel wasn't a good sword for BLU. Someone said it was a good weapon for other jobs too and I disagreed. There are better options that are easier to get for every other sword-using job on the weapon.
