Dead Space 2 producer, Shereif Fattouh, said that there was a big difference between the dialogue on paper, and when it was actually in the game. What might look fine in a script was often much too long for the game, and had to be cut, and/or edited multiple times before Visceral was happy with it. Fattouh said that the long speeches were throwing off the rhythm of the game, and so they had to go. "I don't want to hear him talking, this is ridiculous," he said. "I wouldn't be talking while I'm shooting, you know - while I'm being chased by these necromorphs, [but] he's having a monologue about his lament for his ex-girlfriend".

Thank god, some common sense in vid game design.

it has 0 checkpoints, you can only save 3x. the reviews make the game sound as awesome as my expectations lead me to believe. Too bad I wont get a chance to play it until sunday

I was glad to hear there were no online trophies, but I just saw that there's a trophy for beating Hardcore mode :/

So, I bought the Limited Edition, give em my receipt, the guy says "limited edition" out loud, then hands me Collectors edition. So, huzzah for that. Especially sweet because that same guy kept badgering me about getting a bunch of Gamestop cards I didn't want.



Cons:
Have to stomp on every single Necromorph for it to drop items after it dies

Probably to be expected, but scary factor drops dramatically after you get the ability to fight back. Don't know if I can consider that a con though as that's the same for every single game ever. And it still it pretty spooky.

Not really the games fault, but I keep pressing O to melee, but O in dead space is to use health pack, so I've wasted about 10 or so packs so far lol

Thankfully I didn't pay for the Collectors Edition. The toy gun that comes with it is complete garbage. Really small, no movement aside from the trigger, no lights, and a big Made In China stamp right on it.

And this one is was a free bonus and doesnt affect the game at all, but the Gamestop promo "Dead Space 1 Cutter gun" is pointless. You get it after the regular cutter, it has the same exact stats and secondary fire.

That's it so far. Haven't gotten too far. might be near the end of chapter 2. Haven't tried multiplayer yet either.
