I asked because it could be a few different things, yes TK damage is very helpful if you tend to use their limbs against them alot. Also stasis recharge imo, since I used it frequently, a must, faster the recharge the more stasis available. I always upgrade stasis first, its pretty much invaluable on the last two difficulty settings.

I didn't even know you could do that

and I'm with Kyo, full stasis first, then full rig, then plasma cutter > other weapons

It gives added damage if you hit them in the torso, but jack shit if you hit a limb like you're supposed to.

I figure out you could throw the Belch-shit back at them by accident lol, after catching one trying to grab ammo or something.

Either way, Just picked up the Collectors Edition the other day... Really enjoyed this game from start to finish. Truthfully i played it for about an hour or two before i realized i was on Chapter 6... Game went by quicker than i thought but was still long enough to enjoy.

Though, I swear i heard something about Dead-Space Extraction coming with it or did i imagine that?

If you have the PS3 version it's on the same disc, just go to dashboard > game and go down one from the actual DS2 icon. If you got it for 360, nope.

    yeah i figured.

also: what's best way to deal with those wall monsters with the 3 bulbs that shoot homing missiles at you? even on my 2nd zealot playthrough with a buncha crap they still owned me as i couldn't consistently dodge them.

Pulse Rifle or zoomed Seeker, you can dodge the barbs easily enough if you stop aiming hold L2 and just strafe left/right as they come in

I felt in this one they made the guns more useful as opposed to the first, but still, love the plasma cutter and used it for everything.

Personally, I capped energy usage on stasis, hit damage cap on plasma cutter and then worked suit hp/tk damage. I didnt even get hit until chapter 7 on my zealot playthrough, or nay playthrough for that matter, so hp wasnt really an issue.

Just finished up a Zealot playthrough with the handcanon, took under three hours, lol.

yeah, as said, the best and easiest way to kill these is with the line gun's secondary function. Just dodge all the bombs it tosses at you and get close enough to use the Line Gun. Just keep dodging bombs until the mine explodes and it'll be dead in 1 shot.

Is the Hacker Suit even all that useful? Ignition is pissing me off something fierce.

Yeah ignition sucks, the suit is nice early on, but not really needed.

I don't mind Ignition so much, though it was annoying waiting to find out which story version was the actual story lol. As far as the Hacker suit, if you don't have the CE or a DLC suit it's reasonable enough early on in your first playthrough since I believe it has more inventory than the standard Engineering suit and on your first time through most of the suits don't do jack shit in terms of usefulness.

I was pretty miffed that you actually have to pay for the Hacker suit ingame though, I was under the impression it'd be free, not just 'available'. Also Kyo is there a rough ETA for Severed? Need to know how stingy I should be loaning my disc out to friends lol...

if you have the collector's edition or bought any of the DLC packs the Hacker Suit is kinda worthless, since it costs 20k to buy once you have the schematic whereas other DLC/bonus suits are free (all give 15% armor and 15 slots IIRC). The Hacker Contact Beam is nice though, although I don't remember when you get it but it's not til much later in the game.

In any event you don't actually have to beat Ignition to get your bonuses in DS2, just having an Ignition save file on your hard drive will unlock all the conduit rooms

Finally started playing the game after having it for a week and a bit.

Chapter 3 currently, toting the Hacker Suit since I'm not paying for a suit with real money currently. One pet peeve I had with DS1 is that you could only upgrade to a better suit and not swap to the other ones you purchased freely, is that still the case in DS2 here?

you can change suits as often as you want, you will always keep the largest armor % and number of slots you've found up to that point, so your old suits can be used again if you want to get the bonuses on them.

Slick. Not really digging the look of the hacker suit but I wanted the extra inventory. Hacking minigame is too easy so I don't care about the bonus it gives. I just didn't want a case like I did with DS1 where I was stuck with the PS3 suit for the entirety of my first playthrough. I like a little variety you know?

Speaking of variety, I'm somewhat enjoying the amount of locations they're throwing you through.

Not going to spoil w/ specifics but there's one particular location that renders all others in the game irrelevant lol
