supernova pack is also currently the only way to get a Rivet Gun if you don't have a gamestop code, not that you're missing much if you don't buy it lol

Am I the only one that keeps thinking Nicole is screaming at me that I'm an asshole?
Seriously. The ADS gun got way way easier once I jacked the brightness to max and timed my shots better.
I posted this awhile back.
and I found the answer when I realized something. The answer is karma.
I used the glitch that makes the enemies disappear when they try to exit the vent in the room where you freeze the hunter. 2 exploders, enhanced slasher and a puker.
Not sure why the puker gets switched out with a leaper though.
Huzzah! Platinum'd the game. now I just need to play through the 1st part of the game before I can even try out mah hand cannon
hmmm 8hr 14min clear time for hardcore.
I only just started this game, on chapter 4 on my first playthrough, but man is it fun. I don't normally go for the survivor horror genre, but this game has been a blast for the short time I've played it so far.
Got off my ass today and finished off my Dead Space 1 platinum.
Didn't really like much of the weapons in that game aside from the Contact and line gun. Is there anything notable in DS2 I should look at, or should I just continue with my vintage plasma cutter?
Force Gun is the best gun in the entire game in DS2. In My Hardcore run I upgraded that more than the plasma cutter.
The consensus seems to be Cutter/Force gun/Line gun is what should be carried around most the time. 4th gun is normally the Contact Gun just for the money you get from selling the ammo.
So if I have the Zealot Suit / Force Gun is there a point in downloading the Supernova Pack outside of the Contact Gun money and better Rivet Gun?
Better rivet gun is still not that great.
Supernova's Plasma Cutter comes with a 10% damage bonus. Free Line Gun too that is better than the regular line gun. And two of the suits can be useful on a New Game Hardcore. 1suit gives a 15% bonus to med kits and another suit adds 10% to stasis duration
I would say that if you were going to buy any of the 3 DLC packs, only get the Supernova Pack and don't bother with the other 2. The supernova packs gives you 3 suits (the Med Kit +15% suit is great on hardcore) and 9 weapons (as mentioned the Line Gun and Plasma Cutters have nice damage bonuses). I like the Contact Beam from the Supernova pack more than the Hacker Contact Beam as well.
The Martial Law Pack only gives 2 Suits/6 Weapons (which give a lot of alt fire bonuses but not much else) and the Hazard Pack gives only 3 suits and 3 weapons (I guess the javelin gun looks nice but eh) so I definitely feel like 5 bucks is pretty steep for those 2 compared to the Supernova one.
Oh and the only benefit to the Supernova Pack's rivet gun is that it fires faster, so it's better than the original but not by much.
All the DLC suits (as far as I know, I didn't purchase the other 2 packs) give the same armor% and inventory space (15 and 15 I think?) so there's nothing as overpowered as the Tank Suit from DS1 this time around. IMO you don't really need any of the packs, although they will make the harder difficulties a little bit easier, but besides the Supernova Pack I think they're overpriced and not worth it.
edit: oh and if you're so inclined, purchasing either the Supernova or Martial Law packs will give you a free detonator, which you can use to (slowly) give yourself infinite credits by firing the mines and retrieving them, then selling the weapon and rebuying it for free (note: you will lose your upgrades on any weapon you sell unless you have a duplicate copy of it in your inventory or your safe)
I wouldn't even attempt to bother with the infinite money detonator trick. It takes way too long and it doesn't give much money.
On my Hardcore run I just carried around the Contact Beam since the first store and I never had a money/ammo/health problem. I had suit/stasis/Force Gun fully upgraded and Plasma cutter more than halfway complete by the end of the game.
yea it takes forever and I didn't bother (the detonator only gets 3 shots to start and you don't get another to keep in your safe until like halfway through, unless you buy both packs) and even on hardcore I had enough money to fully upgrade rig/stasis and at least 3 weapons by the end of the game.
You can, however, sell back and rebuy any weapon to refill its ammo so if you want to use the Hacker/Heavy Duty Contact Beam on all the bosses or waste your whole Forged Line Gun clip you can do so without worrying about running out of ammo if you're near a store. I did that a few times in the early part of my hardcore run but by the end of it I was swimming in money.
Severed will be out on March 1st, for $6.99 or 560 MS points.
There's a trailer and stuff here: http://www.destructoid.com/dead-spac...r-194830.phtml. Lexine looks kinda like shit in this engine haha...
I bet beating the DLC will give you Gabe's suit to use on Isaac in the main game, but that's just a guess. Can't wait!
Oh man, Day one DLC, EA you dirty faggots.
for those who have played extraction:
Spoiler: show
