It's pretty much great if you were ever interested in finding out what was going on in the colony, which the movie only loosely dived into. Although i always thought that a game where you, as a civilian with little to no guns, experience the transition from lively human center to unholy nightmare would have been great, but the necromorphs just kill people so damn fast that after the infection really starts the kick in, the game would realistically be over quickly, as your chances of survible are infintesimal.

edit: yea, you being able to move around the colony or the ishimura, getting character development, making the human connection, seeing how huge the environment is, and then slowly things start to decay and the last quarter of the game is basically you desperately trying to find a safe place, and you obviously fail at it.
