Someone needs to remind refs this is the finals, shit's gonna be physical. There were BS calls both ways that ruined the game.
im not a fan of either team but the refs were on some bs
just saw the press conference, kobe so pissed lol
I hope the Lakers stick with the Kobe/Gasol/Bynum pick and roll in game 3.
That shit was deadly, everytime the Celtics doubled Kobe a pass went out to a open big.
Too bad refs had to be so whistle happy with flops or the game would never have been decided like that.
Actually I'm from Atlanta.
GRT said the calls weren't as heavily in LA's favor as the FT numbers indicated "because that's what happens when one team shoots a ton of 3s." I took that to mean because Boston shot a ton of threes and drove less to the basket, they'd have less fouls called against them if they aren't in the paint as often as guys like Gasol, Bynum and Odom (regardless, Boston still had more points in the paint).
My reasoning was that "Boston shot a ton of 3s" was a stupid argument, because there was no reason LA couldn't be the team that shot a ton of 3s instead. Kobe drained a few but Fisher was almost absent from the three point line. The only thing stopping LA shooting threes was their execution. Give me another one liner, though, they're too cool.
ok, so instead of l2english, l2logic
why the hell would you prefer to shoot a ton of 3s when you can drive/pass inside and get the calls, as evidently they did
first time watching basketball?
i love it, why did i even give it a proper response
l2readingcomprehension. The original argument I made was that the officiating was, more often in not, in favor of LA. You responded with "that's not accurate because Boston made most of their buckets from the 3 point line." All I said was that was a stupid argument, and there was nothing to stop LA from making or attempting their threes. I never said "LA should just shoot threes!" I said they didn't execute on the ones they took.
Ray's tie is serious business.
GRT said the officiating was bad, and in the Celtics favor. You said this was false, because the Lakers shot more free throws. GRT said the Lakers shot more free throws because they attacked the paint and didn't shoot a ton of threes. Does that make sense?
Glad the Celtics won, I enjoyed Big Baby's block of Bynum. However, I expect the Lakers to take a game in Boston and this series to go the distance.
I think more likely than not Lakers will lose game 3 too, since it's only one day between games and they have to travel to Boston, with both Bynum and Gasol physically drained from game 2 compared to the Celtics bigs who were just sitting around because of foul trouble.
In other words I would be supremely impressed if they do pull out a win.
i wouldn't say that shooting free throws and shooting 3's are mutually exclusive. boston shot less free throws in addition to shooting less 3's.
i thought the disparity was mostly cause boston had a ton of dumb fouls that they never should have given. they were playing somewhat retardedly for quite a bit of time.
all i know is that they need to be making statues of rondo over in boston.
I thought towards the end they were calling if you got within 5 feet of a Laker as he shot while if you were a Celtic in the paint 3 guys on your back was fine.
But, yeah, you know me.
I thought it was pretty terribly officiated as well, but then I remember it's the NBA, and most games are terribly officiated. Are there any sports where officials/umpires/refs/whatever are more than decent?
Poker.
