Because you have to watch 80 regular season games to get it...
Good call, they played once, thats obviously doing it right.
I find it funny you're acting like a douche when you have openly admitted you hardly watch the NBA.
even if tyche's just a casual fan he's right.
rivalries are where bitter hatred is involved and neither the teams nor the fans can stand each other. rivalry is all about bad blood, either because the teams are always in super close/nasty games, are located in some relevant proximity geographically, or the players on opposing teams have done or said something to each other that causes friction.
the mavs/spurs is a rivalry because of location (i have friends in both areas and they abhor each other) and also because the spurs were like the one team that they had to get over before they were considered truly elite.
the suns/spurs should be pretty obvious but in case it's not, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcIhHOplWws (though i'd assume everyone has seen that before). the suns/spurs have always had a lot of drama surrounding their series and the suns have been screwed time and time again by the spurs.
whatever level of competition has occurred between the spurs + lakers/cavs hasn't been at nearly the same level as with the mavs and suns. the spurs haven't really been on even terms with the lakers since they either haven't faced them too often in the past 10 years or got smoked when they had shaq. and being cleanly swept like the cavs did in just one finals meeting ever doesn't even come close to one. the thing about rivalries is that many players (lebron included) say if it's all just one sided, there can't be a rivalry. so if that's the case with the lakers/cavs and there's not even any bad blood, you're not really left with much.
Whenever the Lakers play the Spurs in the playoffs you can see both team's players have a lot of respect for the other team.
The only bitterness comes from Spurs fans, don't think I've ever met a Laker fan who hated the Spurs even close to the level that Laker fans hate the Celtics.
It's a rivalry but it's more about respect then hate.
lol, well it's obviously you and Dimmauk can't stand each other here
btw, i hope someone reminded Manu to bring along his passport
I truly believe Kobe is the best clotheser on the planet.

I am speechless at that pic.
Dear Shaq, stop missing layups.
yeah i saw the picture. a combination of funny/awkward/weird. makes me not wanna talk about it.
and right now sheed doing it all, posting up, dropping 3's, blocking shots. i didn't think the celtics had a real chance but now that sheed's come alive it's a different game. i'm no c's fan but i'm quite intrigued to see what they look like when sheed cares (which he hasn't done all year).
btw i hope sometime in the near future they will allow me an option to mute reggie miller and just listen to marv albert whenever they broadcast![]()
anyone got a good stream? stuck in a meeting and my usual site is blocked![]()
can't watch the game at work but jesus christ @ the FT difference...
Rondo is amazing lol, 19 assists and its still in the third quarter. Cleveland = overrated!? I'm honestly surprised with how well Boston's playing though, considering how poorly they ended off the season.
