    Aion Laptop Performance

Obviously in certain areas I'm going to be subjected to lag, but I've been comparing my performance to my girlfriends, who has a very similar system and have been trying to figure out ways to maximize performance with my setup. The computer is pretty good, but I still feel I'm getting more lag than I should, where she gets hardly any..

    I run a Dell Vostro 1500 T9300 2.5ghz Dual Core
    4gb 800mhz RAM
    Nvidia 8600M GT
    Windows 32 Bit XP

She runs a Mac with XP partition

    Dual Core 2.5 ghz
    4gb RAM
    Geforce 9400M

And I'm not sure if somehow she's running a 64 bit OS for XP, since the mac OS is I believe..

I guess I'm curious if that could make such a noticable performance increase if that were the case and if not what kind of tweaks and such I should perform on my laptop to get the best possible performanace..

    Thanks.

The 8600M GT is vastly superior to the 9400M (9400M is onboard stuff, quite decent for the average joe)

So in this case it's all about your setup/background processes/drivers/etc.

To find out if she has 64 bit Windows, right click "my computer" and go to properties. It'll tell you there.

    EDIT:

other underlying stuff can potentially be:

heat - depending on system some of them will underclock themselves

I have a lower end vostro 1500, and it heats up like crazy. idk about yours, but I know mine doesn't have a dedicated fan for the GPU (8400m gs)

On the topic of that, there's a lot of issues/mystery surrounding 8400-8600 series cards by nVidia, mainly relating to deaths (and bringing down the whole laptop) and heat.

Game plays fine on my laptop on medium settings. I will log on at work during slow periods and craft/gather. It lags while a zone load ups and is slightly laggy in abyss since it has to load so much all the time, but overall it's fine for what I use it for while at work
