Yeah blarg she went from being just fine to being terminal in a matter of 5 days or so. We're not really too sure what caused it either, our vet says her best guess (since there was really no point in doing any testing, all the meds/fluids/etc weren't helping and she was just getting worse) was that she was just super olde and her parts were beginning to not work. Her BUN & Creatinine levels were in the 15-17 range when norms are around 2-3 -- which basically meant her muscles were kinda... "calcifying" while she was still alive, according to my vet. The day she died she couldn't even move her back legs anymore (and she'd been walking just the day before.) I don't regret putting her down, but I do miss the shit out of her. My house feels really empty.

I've already started looking for kittens. I just cannot stand not having one around. I'll post a few pics of the ones I'm considering... maybe BG can help me pick my kitten.

Exhibit A: a two week old Tortie point siamese kitten, the lone survivor of a litter which 5 out of 6 kittens died during a c-section birth. Needless to say with no siblings to compete with for milk, she's turned into quite the little butterball. She also has a minor imperfection: a kink in her tail. I love it.

I think the legs not working anymore is common with this since it happened to both cats. A bawww story about my cats. When they were both alive they would lie down in the same spot in front of a sliding glass door looking outside. After the first cat died the second one never lied down in that same spot again. Just a few hours before the second cat died she somehow walked over to that spot and lay down there for the first time in years. After about an hour in that spot she basically couldn't move anymore and was put down shortly after.

Well she's the one I like most too I think. I'm only considering girl kitties, I just prefer a girl cat over a boy. The deal with butterball up there is that she was the ONLY survivor of her litter, and because the mom had to have a c-section, the breeder might be out a queen. She's considering keeping lil fatty to become the replacement queen. She SAYS the only thing that's making her reconsider that is the kink in her tail (which is apparently a bad thing, but I find it fucking adorable) -- I hope she doesn't want to keep her, because I wannnnnt~ she looks a LOT like Kitty in the face. I also like the fact that she's the sole survivor of the litter. I wanna name her Darwinism.
