I work in a bar and it is amazing the number of women who carry ID, credit card, and money in their bra. Another thing I've noticed lately is some even carry their cell phone tucked down their cleavage.

Actual reason:
It's an aesthetic thing. Pockets can look lumpy or create lines, especially if you're wearing anything even remotely form-fitting, as many articles of womens' clothing tend to be. Fabric shit's made of also makes a difference. As a result, many designers just cut the shit and the pockets. Practical? Depends. Lots of women carry some kind of purse or bag anyway so it's not really the loss it would be if you were cutting the pockets out of some dude's pants.

I guess you don't realize that showing pantylines in any kind of professional setting is a huge faux pas that will guarantee people won't take you seriously, and that attitude can carry over into regular life. Also, I really don't want everyone knowing what kind underwear I have on that day. With some fabrics, pantylines are just unavoidable, unless of course your jersey dress is a mumu. JUS SAYIN'

It's quite annoying when some of the pants I have don't include pockets, do the people who designed these pants designed for form over function? Do they expect us to carry a handbag or purse everywhere we go. I need just 1 pocket to carry some keys, but no... no pockets on most of these pants I have... WHY?

I have never worn thong underwear because they're uncomfortable and kinda gross. I always go with the bikini cut panties myself, which surely show through my trousers.

Someone said it already but it's cause if they're tight pants (which is sort of the point of girl pants), then the pockets will ruffle it up and make them look less form fitting. It's very noticeable too if the fabric isn't denim.
