Kinda disappointed that the original ORB was destroyed and the replica doesn't do anything.

You know, this makes me wonder about something. Was OSI aware the ORB was broken?

Wasn't that the entire reason to assign Brock to Dr. Venture in the first place?
If they knew it was busted they wouldn't have cared who had it.

It seems like I remember somewhere earlier in the season they mentioned someone else being after the ORB but just in passing, but when I looked at the one from the week before, it said nothing about it at all. Is that just my imagination or was it in one of the first few episodes?

Episode was pretty funny. Hatred was pretty funny, though I thought that psychotherapist's death was fake.

I hate that it's so painfully obvious whenever Seth Green does a voice acting cameo. Otherwise it was a pretty good episode, I liked the boy adventurer support group. And I really miss Brock, Hatred is just the same gag over and over.

EDIT: They also showed the first episode of the 3rd season of Metalocolypse. Though I don't watch that show that much since the music is too "metal" for my enjoyment and the dark humor isn't my style.

what's the strategic value of cutting the season in half? is there any besides keeping the show fresh in people's minds? Like they'd forget all about the show and not watch it if it was not new episodes for a few months longer.

A lot of TV shows do this actually. Most sitcoms or TV dramas usually have about 18-22 episodes for the season. The old way of doing things was to start the season in late September and go all the way until May. If you had a show with 20 episodes that was 20 weeks in a 32 week season, meaning that there would be repeats randomly throughout the season to fill the time.

Now shows do what's called a "Mid Season finale" where they split the season into two halves. The first half usually ends with an episode where something happens that gets you hooked. This happens around November Sweeps. Then they go on break for 8-12 weeks and fill that time with repeats, and then come back and do the second half of the season all the way through till April/May. This way you always get a fresh set of episodes continuously with no breaks. This is also why shows like "24" start way in the middle of January; so that they can run the whole season without needing to insert repeats every 5-6 episodes.

Venture Bros. is no different. If we got all of the episodes in one shot (There are only 16 eps for Season 4) then the show would end around the 2nd week of Feb and we'd have to wait some 10+ months to get the next season.

Dialogue was really top notch in this episode. Hank and the Master were fantastic. Also, Torrid turned out to be far more badass than I'd given him credit for.
