Bump for this movie coming out Friday. From all the reviews I've read, avoid the 3D version at all costs. Everything I've read, it is awful. Go to AICN to read a few thoughts about it. I bought tickets in advance, but they're letting me do a refund, and I'm getting normal tickets.

I agree. The 3D is not worth it at all. I barely noticed it, and when I did, it was because it looked awkward.

Horrible movie, was the 3D green light at the last minute in production cycle? I didn't know what I was looking at during the scorpion fight, that one hurt my vision.

I thought it was okay, though I only went to see it because of Liam Neeson. It is a pretty general Greek Mythology movie. Knowing nothing about the previous one, it somewhat had me guessing how it would end... Ending felt a little rushed, but in a greek myth way, it made more sense than some alternatives.

I like the fact how the Kraken died, it made more sense to me than him going at it with a sword and somehow not dieing...

Edit: Saw it in 2D, 3D just feel gimmicky to me now adays.

This movie was fucking awful imo. 3D was bad and the animation was clearly rushed in many parts, and it was pretty cheesy. I enjoyed like two different parts that were maybe 10mins each. Ending was dumb, only thing that was cool was the Kraken really...

I just wiki'd the original and saw a picture of the Kraken and realized it's what Robot chicken spoofed when when the Kraken is freed, and he goes home only to find his wife remarried and his job is gone so he hangs himself.

As someone who has seen both I'd say the remake rates a 6/10. It differs from the original quite a bit. IMO the worst part of the movie was Zeus. His relationship with humans vs his relationship with Perseus was just not fleshed out well at all. Perseus's reasons for undertaking the task of killing the Kraken are different in each movie. I prefer the reason in the remake but the way this conflicted with Zeus' motives just made it messy. It could have cleaned up the story and made it much better had they fleshed Zeus out better.

I checked it out in 2D fuck that 3D rip off shit. It was a decent flick. I never saw the original to completion cause i'd always just laugh at the fx while high. But overall it was ok for what it was

Just saw this on yesterday and oh man did I call it lol. Sucks at the no Bubo char since he was my favorite from the first movie. Also thought Medusa was supposed to be ugly not... HOT! Pretty impressive what you can do nowadays compared to special effects from back then.
