Movie wasn't bad, it's a typical summer popcorn action film. My only disappointment was that it wasn't an epic film like LOTR/Troy ect. This movie is much more "The Mummy Returns" than "Gladiator".

I saw it in 2D b/c I heard the 3D version sucked, but I enjoyed it enough that I will probably check it out again in 3D to see the difference.

Also, Sam Worthington is NOT Russel Crowe level of awesomeness. I had some high hopes for him to come through on this but I honestly think he is just a good looking set piece for these blockbuster movies he has been in. Not that he is bad but I think his success has a lot to do with looking the part. Compared to Brad Pritt screaming for Hector outside the walls of troy, or Maximus unmasking himself in front of the emperor, there really isn't a point where you say this guy is fucking bad ass.

Saw in 2d after the reviews I read here aboot 3d sucking ass.

Movie was ok, not award winning material. Action scenes were pretty cool. Story was meh at best, especially if you have a decent knowledge of greek mythology.

I saw this today and was not impressed. Honestly it felt like there was way too much comedy. I was hoping for kind of a darker movie. I loved the last 15-20 minutes with the Kraken and riding on the Pegasus and all that. If the rest of the movie was as good as that, I think it'd be much better. Instead we're left with like.. The Mummy/Returns.

I'm normally not one to complain about CG either, but some of the shit in this movie (looking at you Medusa/Giant Scorpions) was pretty awful. :/ Hoping that my next anticipated movie (Kick-Ass) is a lot better than this one.

Oh, and the gods felt compltely pointless in this movie. Zeus was also extremely indecisive. To the point of making no sense almost. Poseidon has 1 fucking line in the whole movie, and Hades controls the Kraken? Didn't Poseidon control it in the original iirc? Hades having power over it makes no sense. The other gods being there were equally useless. They had no speaking lines and were all forgettable.

Was a letdown pretty much. Messy plot and poor script writing sums it up, which is sad considering the source matierial. As cheesy as the stop-motion effects were, the original translated the Greek myth of Perseus to movie form far far better.
A lot of the changes they made were from way out left field and made no sense whatsoever, like giving the Kraken to Hades? Why, worked way better for Poseidon to be its master. Making Zeus seem to be an indecisive wishy-washy pussy? What?
Also what the hells was the point of Io? Using Athena as a guide (like the original story) would have worked better, and for a love interest, they had a perfectly good one in Andromeda (Whose love for, was as key a point for Perseus as saving her and slaying Medusa were)

Even though the scorpian fight was pretty cool, and the entirety of the Krakens siege on Argos was awesome, I was quite disappointed in this movie, as was my 9 year old nephew.

It was a decent movie. Fight scenes, special effects, decent hero/villian rhetoric. Not worth the $10.50 I paid, but it would have been worth $8.

I will say that the opening sequence pretty much kills the movie for anyone who pays attention to it. I mean, the movie is called "Clash of the Titans," but they basically say up front, "Hey, there were these titans, but the gods overthrew them and ruled the world. Okay? Here's the story of Perseus."

Granted, Perseus isn't the most manly of names, but still, the title of the movie gave me a certain expectation, and the monologue at the start pretty much pulled me out of my suspended disbelief.

With that all said, Medusa was good, the Stygian witches were good. The portrayal of Olympus and the gods themselves was good. The ferryman was good. the djinn and scorpions were pretty over the top, as was the kraken, but I can live with that.

Fun movie to see with friends, not a first pick of mine. I'll skip the DVD and catch it on Showtime while I'm playing on my laptop in the living room.

Yea they missed a lot in the story, honestly the story of Perseus could have easily been broken down into 2..maybe even 3 movies. I pretty much closed the window after watching how stupid the kraken fight was :/
