I don't see anything wrong with copying certain things over from FFXI. There are many things in that game that i would be sad to never see again, and others i would like to leave behind forever.

Ahrimans, Malboros, and Cactuars all look much more "traditional" than the models in FFXI, which i am very pleased to see. It would be great to see new models for Wyrms, Dragons, Adamantoise, and elementals for starters. Everything so far looks so much brighter and gorgeous so its really hard to complain if they decide to reuse an original monster model.

Raptors use them to bait larger prey.

I wanna know what they plan on doing with that puppet on the bestiary page. If it will be a actual mob to fight or if pup is coming back in someway

Well, they did mention they wanted to carry over a sense of familiarity, character-wise. Besides, there's a lot of new enemies mixed in with the old.
I feel like you're looking too much into the negatives. At least you can change skin color, hair style, hair color, eye color etc. on your character now, instead of being a clone of everybody else...including NPCs. And at least the graphics are sharper, and the armor looks interesting and new. But you know. Everybody's idea of copy and paste is different.

I noticed on the Aldegoat description, they mentioned something about taming them when they're young. Maybe this is foreshadowing of a BST class?

Sounded more like foreshadowing of a breeding type of thing , whether a class or a crafting discipline since Square was very quick to say there will be no pet classes upon release.

Quite a few...including the various videos. By now it COULD likely have changed, but for the most part you get the general idea.

It's called a Mammet. SE is quite clear that there won't be any pet jobs in the first release of XIV.
