Razer Mamba. Best mouse Ive ever owned. Tracking is excellent and battery life is superb. However, I would suggest not only getting a new mouse but also get a gaming grade mousepad. It truly does make a difference, regardless of what the naysayers think. Im more of a control player, so I like a mousepad that isnt very smooth, although Ive used a G5 (with max weights) and a Steelseries SX mousepad (smooth) and they work wonderfully together. Im currently using a Razer Destructor mousepad. Its very nice and comes with a case.

Don't get a sidewinder x8 wireless, I might have a bad one but I regret selling my G9 for this thing. Battery life is awful, and seems unresponsive off and on.

G9 was a great mouse. MX Rev is not a gaming mouse, but so damn comfortable really sad I lost the USB receiver for it lol.

I use a G5 and loved it enough to get my sister one, I run max weights.

Love it through MMO's and hardcore FPS play, don't know if I'd be able to convince myself to get another mouse. Have had this for probably 2 years now, and I think it's about time for replacing - No clue at all what I'd get. The MX series just doesn't compute, and the G9 seems ok... don't know if I could convince myself to go razer when I'm so big into Logitech keyboards/mice. G15, G13, and G5. I've tried SO many others and these are the only ones that have never failed me after years.

    Read his post guys.

Finger tip gamer, you want the Razer Copperhead or similar.

The G5/G9/x is more for comfort. I've used both and found the Razer much much more twitchy , but less comfortable over time or while doing 2D stuff.

Is the G9 all that comfortable or just plain better than the G5? My G5 is going down hill and I was planning to just get another unless I was convinced otherwise. Also, the comment about gaming mouse pads, absolutely true. I use a gaming grade aluminum with 2 sides, a precision side and a speed side. I use the Speed side with full weights G5 and a custom dpi setting on the highest (faster than default 2nd highest, slower than default 3rd) But Im also running double 1900x1200 26inch monitors, running WoW and FPS probably 6-16hours per day (minimum). Comfort and speed is #1.

Get a G5 or when it drops, the new G-500, the upgraded G-5.

G-9 is a piece of trash. Get another g-5 or pick up http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mi.../5750&cl=us,en.

I was looking at the G500, honestly love my G5 so much Im afraid to even try the Razers even though some people swear by them like I swear by mine.

Well after looking over tons of reviews at work, I have no idea which mouse i'd replace my G5 with.

I have the G5 with the 1 thumb button, my sister has the revised one with 2, I love both of them. My next mouse has to be AS GOOD or Better, so that's either another G5 ormaybe the g500 if I can find some good reviews on it. I am on my computer for 6-16hours per day, minimum, so I need a mouse I can game with on a competitive level for that long and stay comfortable that long. Kinda hard to replace such a great mouse.

I like the G9 more than the G5. Feels better and tracks better. Better buttons and more of them as well.

g500 is kinda like a mix of g5 and g9, more dpi better tracking and the g9 wheel but in the g5 shape.

Is the G9 more comfortable over extended hours of play?

How big is your hand? If its a wider/flatter hand, G9 might be better, if you have a smaller/thinner hand, g5 style all the way.

idk lol, normal? The G5 is my current mouse and I love it, find it extremely comfortable for long hours - I'm 5'8" so I have normal hands i guess.

Get a G-5 or G-500 then. While I'm 6'1", I have smaller hands than most people my size. I really find the G-9 uncomfortable, even for short play because it's wider than the G-5.

I don't like the scroll wheel on the G500. G5 Gen 2 is just about god in mouse form.

I actually really like the G500 scroll wheel, being able to switch from click turning to free turning so easily is nice. The wheel's side clicking seems more solid than the G5 also.
